Feeling a pair of green eyes peering at her from over the rim of a Lima Bean coffee cup, Kailani glanced up from her notebook and offered a shy smile to Hunter Ryan. The two had planned to meet up to study for an upcoming test in their shared AP English class, but found it to be a little difficult considering the boy was texting on his phone, or staring at her the entire time.
"Do you need help?" Kailani asked, tapping his notebook with her pencil. "You haven't looked at the study guide."
"You should wear your hair like that more often." Hunter said, ignoring her question and looking over the girl's curled hair. "Looks nice."
"Thanks." Kailani smiled, playing with the straw of her frozen coffee. She had spent most of the day with Mercedes at her house and the girl refused to let her leave for her study session with the junior without being a little more done up. She tilted her head and smiled awkwardly when the boy kept staring. "Maybe I won't. You seem to not be able to focus on the task at hand."
"You could be wearing a trash bag and I'd still want you." Hunter shrugged, smirking as the girl across from him turned red.
"Want me? That's a little..." Kailani nervously chuckled, biting her lip and looking down at her notebook. "So, uh, this whole section is on-"
"I have an idea!" Hunter interrupted the girl, closing his textbook and taking another sip of his coffee. "How about we go to breadstix sometime this week? You and me?"
"To..." Kailani arched her brow. "To study?"
"Study you, maybe." The dark haired boy chuckled. "I'm asking you on a date, Kailani. Let's go to dinner tomorrow night. We don't have practice and I doubt you have other plans."
"You doubt I have other plans?" Kailani frowned, slightly offended.
"I mean...do you?"
"No, bu-"
"Good! I'll pick you up at seven." Hunter declared, as Kailani blinked a few times, before slowly nodding.
"Okay. Yeah, okay." She smiled softly. "Sounds fun."
"Cool."
Internally, Kailani didn't know how to feel about the subject. It wasn't that she didn't like Hunter, he seemed like a sweet guy and was decently attractive. She was more worried about the fact he was plenty experienced in relationships and physical aspects, while Kailani's only real experience was with her fanfictions she read and shows she watched.
She also felt a little off with the fact Kailani was stuck with a school girl love sick puppy crush on one Quinn Fabray at their school as well and it only seemed to get more painfully frontward as she spent more time with the blonde.
