Quinn Fabray looked down at her wallet that had come back from whatever time portal she had been thrown into a few weeks around. She had a cut section of a Photo Booth picture from senior Prom tucked where her license was placed, unable to pull her eyes away from how perfect the view was.
Kailani smiled brightly towards the camera with their blue eyes sparkling towards the flash. They had their faces against each other, smiles so bright it matched the camera's flash, while still seeing little signs of their arms around each other.
Quinn wouldn't forget seeing Kailani Hummel walk into the dance with her name displayed perfectly on their chest and the ring she had gotten them wrapped around their finger. It was a night they wouldn't forget, more than just looking forward to a foursome, but spending time with their friends and discussing their future.
Quinn remembered Kailani promising her on that dance floor that nothing would be coming between them. And she wanted to keep her side of their vows more than she had in the past.
This time around, Quinn Fabray would keep Hunter from ruining her chances with Kailani. She wouldn't lie and be untrue as much as she had, and she wouldn't choose stupid Finn Hudson three times over Kailani. She wouldn't imagine cheating, drinking, getting that ridiculous motorcycle, or putting down Kailani's dreams of being a writer over going to NYADA just because of a stupid boy. There wouldn't be any texting and driving, no giving up her daughter, and no wasting time-saving Kailani from death.
Kailani Hummel would not die this time around.
The blonde sniffled, wiping the tears falling down her face away quickly when she heard footsteps coming through the bathroom connected to the locker room.
"Hey." A familiar voice was heard behind Quinn as her heart raced. "Are you okay, love?"
Quinn turned around and quickly shoved her wallet into her Cheerios letterman. She smiled softly when Kailani's eyes widened significantly in concern when they noticed her red eyes, holding their towel close to their swimsuit-concealed body.
"I'm okay." Quinn nodded, quickly pulling her eyes away from Kailani's body when the brunette noticed her eyes wandering downward. "Can you keep a secret?"
"Me?" Kailani asked, brows pulling together as they pointed to themself in confusion. "Uh, ye-yeah. Of course, love."
"Not even to Kurt?"
"Not even to Kurt."
"Promise?"
"Promise." Kailani nodded their head, tilting it and rubbing their elbow awkwardly. It felt natural to go back and forth with Quinn, almost too raw for them to feel completely comfortable.
