It was officially Spooky Season. Not fall or autumn, not even Halloween season, but Spooky Season according to Kailani Hummel every time she corrected Quinn when she tried to tease her about her large love for everything October.
And now that the glee club had basically marked the couple as 'a rent to own marriage' or whatever that meant, Quinn was required to attend every Spooky Season tradition according to Kurt, who was glad to get out of it for a few different reasons.
But Quinn wasn't complaining as she watched Kailani practically skip around the pumpkin patch looking at the different pumpkins in the cutest animated ghost button up, jeans, flannel, and beanie. Her face was newly painted with orange, black, and white candy skull design running over her left cheek and over her left brow.
Had she mentioned how adorable Kailani was?
"What about this one?" Kailani asked, picking up a pumpkin before making a face and setting it back down. "Nevermind, it's ugly."
"Don't judge the poor pumpkin!" Quinn laughed, walking after the girl with her free hand stuffed in Kailani's football letterman, hot chocolate mug in the other, taking a small sip. "Say you're sorry!"
"Sorry ugly pumpkin." Kailani giggled, rolled her eyes and moved towards the next pumpkins. "White or orange?"
"Up to you, bug." Quinn smiled, bending down and picking up a tiny pumpkin, holding it up towards Kailani. "Look! It's you!"
"Ha. Ha." Kailani sarcastically laughed, pointing towards a white pumpkin. "Look, it's you!"
"You're whiter than me."
"Hater." Kailani jumped over a patch of vines and laughed as she stumbled into her girlfriend, smiling when Quinn quickly wrapped her arms around her and kissed her cheek. "Can I steal some?"
"Sure. I got it for you." Quinn replied, handing her the coffee mug and chuckling as the shorter girl sipped it while turning to look at the pumpkins around where they stood. "Did you see a pumpkin?"
"I see many."
Quinn closed her eyes and took a deep breath, echaling out a groan as Kailani laughed and laced their fingers together.
"Okay, smartass, I drove you out here. Don't get a 'tude with me." Quinn playfully glared at the girl as Kailani turned and pouted. "Stop being cute. October 1st hit and you're all of a sudden nine."
"I thought I was always nine."
"Your mentality and size now matches."
"Whatever, Luce." Kailani winked at Quinn, pulling her along to stroll through the pumpkin patch together.
Quinn tried to act annoyed. She really did, but Kailani saying her name was a lot different than old bullies in middle school or people at their high school that would have made fun of her in a heartbeat. She hadn't explained to Kailani why she had changed her name to go by her middle name, not that she didn't trust her, but because she didn't want to give any reason to see her as less than the reputation she had swoon her with.
