Caring was a hard word to translate.
The act of displaying kindness and concern for others, but not exclusive to someone of a certain relationship. One could care for a friend, an acquaintance, a stranger, or...even a lover. There were so many options on how to show when someone cared for another and with the large population that inhabited the earth, there was bound to be more ways than most understood or would ever come across.
For Quinn Fabray, caring about Kailani Hummel was almost too easy. It was figuring out how to express that feeling that made it harder than the actual act of caring for her. The hardest part of it all? Understanding and accepting the full reason behind why she might have cared for this random girl at her school that had slowly stolen her heart.
Sometimes she felt like she was misinterpreting the brunette's reactions to things she said or did. There was always a doubt in the back of her mind that she was constantly reading too far into those hypnosing hazel eyes, stuck on every once of the beautiful soul that filled Kailani's kind heart.
Quinn wasn't sure what it was about Kailani Hummel, but she knew she couldn't let go of this girl. In the world of Kailani, Quinn was far too deep in the water that was this amazingly sweet and intelligent swimmer to ever think of being fished out by someone else.
It was incredibly difficult to wrap her head around the fact that someone she barely knew could love all the little things she hated about herself, but in a way, she could find a sense of familiarity in the feeling. She was finding herself falling for every ounce of flaws that Kailani disliked in herself as well.
Quinn had spent a lot of time crying over the past week after being kicked out of her house and forced to move back into Finn's after her idiot of a boyfriend outed her pregnancy to parents in song at dinner.
Why on earth was she dating this kid again?
One thing that stuck with her during her brutal crying sessions and moments of blasting sad music and screaming in the safety of her car was Kailani. She knew she was in way too deep for any of these feelings to be comfortable. How could she not be when Kailani Hummel made sure to greet her every morning through text or a quick greeting at school on her way to class, always flashing her perfectly white toothy smile that showed off the cute little two bottom front teeth that were ever so slightly turned inward.
A bike accident from what Kailani had vaugley explained. She was terrified of getting braces to fix the minor issue, so it never came about, but Quinn wasn't complaining. She happened to find the little flaw in her smile absolutely adorable, especially when she subconsciously placed her tongue between her teeth to try and hide it in pictures.
