"What gender are you?"

"Yes."

"What gender are you?"

"No."

"What gender are you?"

"Maybeee." Kailani winked, laughing as Blaze's screen shook in amusement, laughter coming through the speaker of her computer.

The two had finally exchanged Skypes and were able to finally meet face to face last week, eager to discuss everything going on in each other's lives since Blaze's unexpected disappearance.

While Kailani – emotionally as always – explained her issues with Hunter, Quinn, gender identity, family life, swim, football, Cheerios, and school, Blaze took a more chaotic route and explained her detailed family drama that ended with her moving in with her father's sister in Cleveland that's some super cool football coach.

Honestly, Kailani was a little jealous of Blaze's Aunt Shannon considering every time she met her through the computer the woman was super smooth with making sure she used all the correct pronouns, as well as encouraging her to go out for football next year.

But, on the other hand, Blaze was pretty jealous of having a gay brother that randomly felt the need of walking in on their conversations to ask about his outfit or see if she was talking with Quinn – who she honestly hadn't spoke much to since she gave her the whole 'figure out what you want' sleep deprived starvation overly emotional speech.

Quinn hadn't initiated much contact beside little small talk in glee and small smiles shared across the choir room, so Kailani assumed the fact she was somewhat still with Noah Puckerman after the whole Mercedes-Santana smackdown last week was a tell tale sign.

Kailani wasn't what Quinn wanted.

"Kaipo, you can't just not answer at all." Blaze laughed, shaking her head on the screen. "I think you should just say Fluid and move on. They'll get over it. I mean, your relationship with your femininity fluctuates. Nothing wrong with that my pal."

"I know. I know. It's so annoying though." Kailani groaned, propping her head up with her elbow on the mattress, kicking her mixed matched socks behind her back.

"You're AFAB, so people are just going to presume she/her automatically." Blaze reminded her. "You're technically both, you just change on the scale. Especially since you have a baby face and look like a toddler."

"Uh, hello? Have you looked in a mirror?" Kailani scoffed, chuckling at her friend.

Blaze Mason was the literal internet savior. The best queer friend that understood more of her gender feelings than anyone else in her circle of buddies. Kailani was so grateful for the chance to talk to someone that understood – Blaze was open to his gender as well after all – and could help understand a bit more of the confusion.
