"Quinn!" Alisha yelled after the woman as she stormed through the woods with tears falling down her face. "Quinn, wait!"

"I'm tired of this!" Quinn growled, shoving a few branches away from her. "She's messed with my life!"

Alisha jogged forward and quickly grabbed Quinn's arm. She ducked as the woman spun around with her fist jetting in her direction. Her hands raised as Quinn threw her fingers into her hair and choked out a small sob.

"I think I'm going crazy." She admitted. "I've had flashes! I've had dreams! What if I don't really love Lani because that girl over there put her fucking soulmate in my head? What if I'm not really meant to be with Kailani? We've had so many issues and...and I'm—"

Slap!

"Get it together, Blondie!" Alisha spat. "Do not act like you only love Kailani for her brain. This makes sense!"

"No it doesn't!"

"Yes it does!" Alisha laughed, throwing her hands in the air. "No, I don't think this shit is right, but you have struggled with your own impulse and shifting choices over the years. Imagine what Kailani's been going through. How do we know Kai wasn't a boy? How do we know Kai's not a musical genius instead of this science nerd that continued to push their goals to the side? How do we know, Quinn?"

"What if Kai doesn't love me?" Quinn began to sob, shaking her head. "What if we weren't meant to be together and that's why we had these difficulties? I-I put my hands on my family and was that me or Mackenzie? Both? What about Juniper? My child could be-be in danger more than she is!"

"Stop it." Alisha hissed. "You love Kailani. I know you do. You can't give up."

Alisha lowered to the ground and hugged the woman as she broke. It was a long time coming for her friend, and she wasn't going to stand in her way of finally releasing all that tension and emotion that's built up over the years.

"It's going to be okay." Alisha whispered, rubbing Quinn's back. "Everything will be okay. Believe in Kai. Kailani loves you. I know it. You know."

The last hour had been nothing but arguing. As much as Alisha was trying to stay positive, she could understand why Quinn was angry. Anyone would be if their entire life could have possibly been a lie thanks to some science dweeb in the 90s.

Kailani Dawns had dabbled in the soul during her best friend had. The only difference was the dream world wasn't a product until Kailani Hummel had cued into the instinct and ditched her love for music, poetry, and words for the scientific life that drilled her mind into exhaustion.
