Quinn dragged her finger over the many spines of journals in the bookshelf with a small smile.
"You kept them."
"I used everyone." Kailani glanced up from their homework and smiled, returning their gaze to their desk. "I like the style."
"I got you different styles." Quinn narrowed her eyes.
"Maybe I just like when you get me journals." Kailani mumbled, writing down another answer in their neat handwriting. Their focus remained on the next few problems until they heard Quinn hum.

"Yes, I tried everything."
Kailani placed their hands over Quinn and held the watch together. Hazel eyes never left theirs as a smile broke out across the brunette's face.
"You're magical, Lucy."
Quinn's heart raced. She was so distracted by the sound of it pounding in her ear; she hadn't noticed the way Kailani's eyes glowed. She missed the silver in her own eyes as the watch swirled with both colors seeping through their fingers tips, sending the watch hands spinning wildly.
"Kailani?"
Kailani felt a distinguished blur around them. A dizziness washed over their entire body as Quinn tilted her head and stared deeply into their eyes.
