The stopwatch on the wall sat in a glass case in Kailani's office from the day they moved into the old firehouse. It ticked slowly by on its own timeline while Quinn shuffled the signed books piled up around her partner's office into large boxes. Sometimes, glancing at it quickly over the years, the woman often thought she saw it glow like Kailani claimed in her unspoken magical world of Glee.

"I can't believe you finally got Kailani to write a book." Santana commented, flipping through one of Glee's special edition copies with a small smile. "Though I'm not that impressed by the way you both made me seem like an asshole in high school."

"Honey, you were an asshole in high school." Brittany sent her wife a look as she rested on the ground with a bottle held up to their toddler.

Although they had made up with Kailani and Quinn after a rocky senior year and early freshmen in college stages, she knew her wife had always been a bit of an asshole in high school. She cheated on Kailani with Brittany, adding to the painful pull apart by the two best friends, but sending them both into their soulmates. It was the sadness of times and the best of times...or whatever that old guy said in that class Brittany dropped at MIT.

Santana rolled her eyes. "Didn't you just feed her?"

"Brooke is just like her Mami. She loves to eat." Brittany giggled, rubbing the caramel cheek of their youngest with a loving smile. "Sweet Brookie Babe."

Quinn watched Brittany for a moment and smiled to herself, returning to pack the special edition books for shipping.

"I know that look." Santana placed her copy down and resumed helping Quinn. "I thought you two were done after the twins. Don't make me go on about my surprise when you announced more girls."

"We didn't plan for more than one." Quinn rolled her eyes. "God works miracles."

"Triplets is not a miracle from God. It's a sign from Satan."

"San." Brittany sent her wife a look when the Latina shrugged. She looked at Quinn and smiled. "I'm sure the girls will be perfect."

"No, don't you jinx them." Santana pointed at her wife, eyes wide. "You said Brooke was perfect and I lost her the first day you left us home alone together because she decided to crawl out the fire escape."

"I told you she's good with locks."

"She didn't even know how to stop smacking herself! How would she know how to unlock a deadbolt?"
