When I get home I take off my wig and stuffed bra so that I can lie down. It feels nice to get out of the wig, it was getting really hot. It was definitely worth it though. Today was fun.

My phone buzzes, it's my new friend.

Karen: Hey Marjorine! It's Karen. I talked to my family and they said I could have a friend over this weekend! We should talk about what time and what we wanna do when we see each other tomorrow. Are you always around after school like you were today?

Marjorine: Yes! I walk home so I have all the time in the world. I'll see you tomorrow!

Karen: Okay! Cya!

I can't help but smile. A friend. A real friend. This was a foreign feeling for me.

"Butters! Come down for dinner!" My dad yells through my door.

I change back into my regular clothes and take off my makeup before going back downstairs.

Wednesday at school starts later than other days. There is a 30-minute delay. I spend this time practicing eyeliner. By the time I need to get going, I have a perfect cat eye. I'm proud of how it turned out. I put on an outfit similar to the one I wore the day prior. I put on my wig and stuff my bra again.

It's tough sneaking out for the day without my parents seeing my outfit, but I manage.

-

"Marjorine! Over here!" Cartman calls me over. He and Kenny are standing in front of the school.

Kenny is wearing his usual orange jacket and some jeans, his hands are in his pockets. He projects confidence and carelessness. The wind gently blows through his fluffy blonde hair. Has he always been this cool?

"Took you long enough." Cartman folds his arms.

"Sorry..."

"Hey man, leave her alone." Kenny lightly kicks Cartman. "How was your first day? Are you settling in okay?"

I smile at him, mustering up all the cuteness I can. "I am! Thanks for checking on me. This place is nice."

"I'm glad. Come to me if you ever run into trouble."

Cartman smiles and raises his eyebrows at me. I think he is impressed with the effect I had on Kenny. I am too. I didn't think he would take a liking to me so fast. Maybe I'm just his type. I guess I lucked out.

"I will, thank you..." I twirl my hair between a couple of my fingers.

The bell rings and the three of us get to class. Just like yesterday, people are talking to me a ton. Asking about my old home and my interests. It's a little bit overwhelming.

The only boys who seem uninterested in me are Tweek and Craig. I have a theory as to why but I won't get into that.

A couple of the girls invite me to hang out with them after school but I decline. They completely ignored me before so why should I hang out with them now? Plus I already plan on meeting with Karen after school. I would rather have one good friend than 10 shallow friends.
