"Sorry, Mar... built up emotions. She's doing better, just has some stuff to deal with but she's getting help. She misses you and feels bad for what she did but she can't really express it well right now."

"Okay, thank you for telling me..."

"Mm."

We sit in silence for a bit watching the candle flicker. It's getting colder. I cross my legs and pull my arms in to keep the heat close to my body.

I close my eyes and try to focus on anything other than the cold.

A moment of quick shuffling and two footsteps. When I open my eyes I see Kenny's white tee shirt right infront of me. My face an inch from his chest.

He drapes his coat over me and steps back to see if I'm covered enough.

"...thank you, Kenny."

"Yeah."

"Are you warm enough?" I ask as he makes his way back to his spot.

"I'll be okay, I have enough muscle to keep me warm for now."

"... do you remember the first time you gave me your coat? After I made you all dinner and you drove me home. There wasn't much of a walk from the car to my house but you said you didn't want me getting sick."

He exhales. "Yeah, I remember. You looked really cute in my jacket I didn't want to take it back." He turns his head and looks at me. "You still look cute in it."

I feel my face get hot. I suddenly remember how it felt to be more and more love with him every day. I remember how happy we were.

I remember that I miss him.

I miss him so much it hurts.

"Thank you..." I snuggle into the coat.

"How come..." Kenny starts. "How come you never responded to my messages? Looks like your phone is working fine... do you just not want to talk?"

This must've been hard for him to ask, he looks nervous. "You texted me? When?"

"After the very first club meeting. I texted you asking how you were doing and stuff like that."

"Oh shit... my phone broke on my way back home from that and the texts didn't transfer over. I promise that wasn't on purpose!"

He nods. "Okay."

"It makes me kinda happy to know you reached out..."

"Does it? I guess I'm glad you weren't ignoring me on purpose."

"Yeah..."

Kenny shivers. "I hope it doesn't get much colder..."

"Here..." I stand up and walk over to him with half his jacket open. "Let's share."

"... are you sure?"

"I am, it'll be best for both of us to share body heat."

I sit in between his crossed legs and wrap the coat around his back. He hugs his arms around my body to keep me warm. We sit like this for a while.

I don't feel cold anymore but I'm still shaking.
