Chapter 68

It's taking Kenny a while. I think he probably found someone he knows and got held up. He always ends up talking to people for longer than he thinks he does.

I decide to get up and go to the drink counter to find him but he isn't there. Did he go back?

I go to the corner again but he's not here either...

I find Karen.

"Karen! Have you seen Kenny?"

"Oh, yeah. He had a couple of water bottles and he went that way, I think with one of his friends."

Thought so. He got caught up in socializing. I would be upset if I didn't think it was so cute.

I take off my heels again, I think I'll just carry them for the rest of the night. The direction Karen pointed to leads to a hallway that leads to the faculty bathroom. Did he need to go to the bathroom?

I go down the hall. It's a bit confusing to walk down a hall while prom is happening. The gym is so loud but the hallways are so dark and quiet. Did he really go this way? I don't see anyone. I might as well check the bathroom really quick.

I go to the end of the hallway and look at the door. It says no one's in there and it isn't locked. I reach for the handle but then I hear a voice.

"Let's get —- — all —— sex— t———."

I can't hear exactly what the voice is saying through the door. Whoever it is is speaking quietly on purpose.

"Kiss —"

Oh. I think they're doing something they shouldn't do in public. They should've locked the door.

I start to walk away but then I hear the second voice.

"Are you ———- Nico—? I can —- — —- — Mar."

Mar?! That's Kenny's nickname for me!

I run back to the door and grab the handle. I take a deep breath. It's probably nothing. I could be imagining things. Nothing bad is behind this door.

I push it open. The first thing I see is two water bottles on the floor. I slowly trail my eyes up just in time to catch the main view.

Kenny looking at me in horror. Sparkly purple lipstick on his neck... and his lips.

(Short chapter cause I want this to be the cliffhanger)
