I didn't get to spend much more time with Kenny before I left. He was quiet for the last day but he helped me pack and told me to call him of anything happened.
It's been two months now. Winter break is next week and my final projects are all submitted.
My mom has been paying for an apartment while I look for a better place to live. It hurts sometimes to think about Kenny and Karen. They were all I had for a long time.
It's sad, but I haven't talked to them much since everything went down. Kenny asked how I was doing last month but other than that it's been radio silence.
I doubt there's much hope for me to repair this relationship anymore. I should try to move on but I have so many deep feelings for Kenny.
Instead of sulking by myself I decided I should make some friends. I signed up to be part of a Christmas group at school. Starting during the break I just go in and help set up and run fundraisers and events for the school. It's almost entirely student volunteers.
My hair is shoulder length and my chest has grown in a little. The day of the first meeting I throw on a red dress with white fluff at the bottom. It's supposed to look like a Santa dress but a little less flashy. I tie it all together with a red bow clip to hold my bangs to the side.
It's snowing when I get to the school. It's weird to see such a big college so empty. The email I got said we were meeting in room 505. That reminded me of the song so I've been listening to it all day.
I've never been to the fifth floor so of course I end up lost.
"504... 506??? Where is-" I mutter to myself.
"Looking for 505?" A man's voice says from behind me.
"Yeah..." I turn around to see fluffy blonde hair.
"I'm going there too."
I smile. "Do you know where it is? I'm so lost..."
He laughs. "It's kind of hiding in a corner. I'll show you."
I follow behind him until we reach a large room around the corner.
"I'm Bradley, by the way. What's your name?" He opens the door for me.
"Marjorine. It's nice to meet you. Thanks for the help."
"No problem."
We walk into the room. There's a few people but not everyone has arrived yet so we are told to sit down. I sit next to Bradly and we talk about why we joined this group. Turns out he's new in town and was looking to make friends.
"Here, since we both have the same goal, why don't we be friends!" I smile and hand him my phone, already open to the 'new contact' screen.
He takes the phone. "Why thank you, madam." He mocks a British accent.
I giggle. "Tis my pleasure, sire."
He laughs and hands me my phone back. "You're funny, Marjorine. Looks like this will be fun!"
I nod. I'm glad I made a friend so quickly here.
