On Monday I return to the class I have with Bradley and Kenny.

Kenny finds me outside the classroom. "Want me to go in with you?"

I nervously nod.

Kenny and I walk in and take our seats.

I always feel so safe with him. This reminds me of when he would walk me into class when our teacher tried to make moves on me.

Kenny's girlfriend sits on the other side of Kenny.

I do my best to not look at Bradley.

"Good morning everyone." The teacher begins his lesson with a quote and a poem before moving on to work. "As you all may have read in the syllabus, the first three weeks are dedicated to a group case study assignment. This won't be easy. I understand this is difficult material but it will build teamwork skills and general knowledge about your case."

One person raises their hand. "Sir, how will the groups be determined?"

"I have already assigned groups. Don't worry though, I decided based on predetermined relationships you all seem to have with each other. I was at the formal dinner and took note of who gets along with who."

Oh god...

He pulls out a sheet of paper. "I assigned you in groups of 2-3. First group is Kenneth and Bebe."

Of course he's in a group with his girlfriend.

"Then we have Bradley and Marjorine."

I expected as much when he said he was going off of our relationships with each other.

He calls out the rest of the groups, then he tells us to all get in our groups.

I quietly sit next to Bradley. It's been about a week since I saw him last. I'm lucky this class only meets once a week, but with this project, we will probably have to meet outside of class.

Our teacher hands out our assignments. Each group got a different one, and all of the case studies are around 12 pages long.

"Spend the remainder of class reading through those together. Sorry for the fact that I only had one copy of each. Didn't feel like killing too many trees. Once you are done you may leave."

Kenny scoots closer to his girlfriend and they both lean over the papers on the table.

Bradley tosses the study in front of me. "You read it and I'll take it home with me when you're done. I'll just read it on my own."

I sigh and read through the pages, once I finish Bradley takes them and leaves.

Three weeks of working with him...

As I get up to leave, I notice Kenny is still hanging around. Bebe already left...

"Kenny? Aren't you going home?"

He looks at me from his chair. "Nah. I wanted to talk with the teacher."

"Oh... about what?"

"Just questions about the assignment."

"Oh okay. Well... uhm... I'll see you next week." I awkwardly wave at him.

"Yeah. See ya."
