Sodor has always been different from the rest of the British Isles. Besides the obvious difference in motive power, their railway has consistently grown for over a century. The most extreme misstep during the BR period was the closing of the Norramby line. But in recent years, some of the standard operations have become more complicated. Since the mainland dieselized their network, NWR engines usually need special permission to go past Barrow, or have a diesel take the train on. This was time-consuming and expensive. Sir Stephen has tried to fix this by using some of his own diesels, but they couldn't really afford to be away for that long. Finally, he bought two more diesels. The Class 66s were becoming very popular goods engines in the late 90s, so Sir Stephen bought a pair of them. When they arrived, they certainly proved to be useful. Sara and Dante were good engines but tended to ramble. They are relatively unknown by enthusiasts since they're rarely on Sodor for very long. Sara had heard about how engines could pick their own liveries on The Fat Controller's railway and took full advantage of this. She asked to be painted in a unique shade of purple with yellow ends. Dante wasn't nearly as particular, so he was content with the standard green livery for the NWR's diesels.
