Rex is the second engine in the original trio. He is the middle engine of the original trio. He often says things to Mike to get him riled up or start an argument. Rex always seems to have something smug to say whenever Mike is around. Like Mike, Rex was involved in one incident that everyone knows about. The incident in question is when Rex hit a cart full of wool and derailed. Rex also has a prominent wheel slip issue, which sometimes prevents him from taking heavier trains. Rex was given the No. 2 after the 80s.
