Most people try to fit Emily into the RWS by having her be part of one of the early railways predating the NWR. I have decided to take a different approach. First I must explain the branch line to Norramby. The line was run by the LMS in 1925, and then BR from 1948 to 1967. Then it became one of the many branch lines shut down by BR. In this universe, Sir Charles buys the line that same year. He then had an engine built to run tourist trains on the line. The engine was a new build of a GNR G3. The parts were made in Scotland and shipped by rail to Crovan's Gate. The engine was assembled there and was completed in1968. This engine was Emily. She was trialed on the main line to see if she was capable. She was later transferred to the Norramby Branch. From then on she pulled tourist trains from Barrow to Norramby. She also ran the goods traffic until Arthur came in 1969. She doesn't really see the other engines that often, but she always says hello when she does. She is also willing to listen to advice whenever she needs it. She mainly listens to Arthur since they work together. Unlike the television series, Emily doesn't try to boss people around or get jealous of other engines' jobs, though she still gets frustrated when things go wrong. She is also incredibly friendly with Molly whenever she sees her. Now you didn't hear this from me, but I believe they may be a little more than friends. She also has a close friendship with Henry. She's always fussing at her about her health, but its only because she cares. Despite being younger than most of the engines, Emily is an old soul at heart.
