Unlike most of the railways on Sodor, the AR started with 3 diesel engines on the line. They helped build and restore the line. Then the 3 mains steam engines came afterwards. The AR was vital in helping find Duke. Then the last engine was built on site in the 1980s. Ever since then, the roster has stayed the same. It's never made clear how the numbering system worked on the AR in the books or the show, so the order I came up with is not based on much. There are also many inconsistencies about their stories. Some of the stories claim that Frank, Rex, Mike, Jock and Bert are the only engines on the AR, despite there being 3 other engines. Some sources also say that Bert is the youngest of the three main engines. I aim to rectify these inconsistencies.
