Toby the Tram Engine (Ex. LNER No. 7136, Pres. NWR No.7):

Toby is one of two tram engines on Sodor. In this universe, there is another tram engine on the Ffarquhar Branch. Toby started life on the GER, later LNER, where he worked in a harbor for a while, until he was sent to work on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. He worked on this line with his faithful coach Henrietta and his luggage van Elsie. The trio worked on this line until their work started to dwindle. The other tram engines had been withdrawn by BR and Toby was the only engine left. Then one day, Toby met the Fat Director and his family when they were on holiday. They all liked Toby so much, that when his line closed in 1951, the Fat Director bought Toby, Henrietta and Elsie after Thomas got into trouble with a constable. Toby was brought to run the tramway between Ffarquhar and the Anopha Quarry. He also runs stone trains from the quarry to the old Knapford Harbor. When Toby startled the constable, the locals named a pub after him. Toby also had another coach named Helga as well. He also added an old Furness Railway coach named Victoria to his "Vintage Train" in 2007,when Helga was in the works for maintenance. She was later given to the railway museum at Ulfstead. Toby is usually one of the few voices of reason on the Ffarquhar branch. He usually has to come between Thomas and Percy when they fight, make sure Daisy does the work she's assigned and bring Mavis back down to earth. This went on for about a decade, until Flora came to the line. Since she was a little older than Toby, she was seen as another voice of reason. Sometimes Flora gives Toby advice whenever he asks. Together, they keep the younger engines from tearing each other apart.
