Harry and Bert are two class 08 diesels that work at the Ironworks near Peel Godred. They used to work at Crewe in the 1960s until they were withdrawn. In the television series these two are portrayed as ominous, devious, and wanting to scrap any steam engine that comes near the Ironworks. In this universe, this couldn't be farther from the truth. Despite their gruff appearance, Harry and Bert are incredibly polite to both steam and diesel engines. They are both painted brown with yellow and black hazard stripes. They both also, interestingly, have stubble. Most engines don't know them too well, but Edward says that they are both pleasant engines. Harry is the more talkative of the two, while Bert is an engine of few words. Whenever an old engine is sent up there, the twins are always respectful and try their best to help the engine reconcile with their unfortunate end. They were both in the same position as some of these engines. Both twins are somewhat afraid of Diego, and for good reason. There is another big diesel that works out of the Ironworks, that the twins look up to. They also were told about the 3 narrow gauge engines that used to work there when the old Aluminium Works were being converted to an Ironworks. Two of those engines were sold to the Skarloey Railway, while the other stayed until the early 2000s.
