Ivo Hugh is the 7th engine on the SKR. However, he was built much later than the rest of the other engines. He is actually the 9th engine to arrive on the SKR. Actually, arrive is not the right word. Ivo was built on site in 1995 to remedy an engine shortage on the railway. He was named after the railway's chief mechanical engineer, Mr. Ivo Hugh. Ivo Hugh is numbered 7 because they finally decided to give the number to another engine. They had refrained from numbering another engine 7 because of something that happened in the early days of the railway. It must have involved Freddie, the engine I mentioned earlier. He is the only other No. 7 in the SKR records besides Ivo. Freddie used to be the MSR's No. 7. Then he was sold to the SKR and disappeared 3 weeks later. The engines had to explain all of this to Ivo. He took it surprisingly well and always tries his best with his work. He says it's to honor the engine that came before. Ivo is a good-natured engine but is still young and inexperienced. He has gotten into multiple incidents, some of which are at the wharf at Balladwail. Many of the SKR episodes in the TVS could work better with a young engine like Ivo Hugh. He and Peter Sam are very good friends, since they are both incredibly similar.
