Background
There are various industries and businesses on the Island of Sodor. Almost all of them are serviced by the NWR, but they are not owned by them. These private companies have their own engines and rolling stock. This is a list of all of the engines, roughly in chronological order. They are divided into three subsections in this particular section. There are also engines that run excursion trains to and from Sodor.
Industrial Engines
Most of the industries that are serviced by rail have their own engines. Some companies could only afford to operate one engine at first, while others operated two or 3 at a time. This is the list of every industrial engine on Sodor from Ffarquhar to Kirk Ronan. This section begins with Bill and Ben and ends with Dahlia.
Museum Engines
These engines are engines that have been purchased, restored or sometimes built for Sir Robert Norramby's Steam Railway Museum. Some of them have a history on Sodor, while others are new builds of engines that no longer exist, and others have been brought to Sodor from elsewhere. They pull trains around Sir Robert's massive estate. This section begins with Lady Lillith and ends with Jeanette.
Duke and Duchess' Engines
The Duke and Duchess of Boxford are very avid rail enthusiasts. Their names are Lord Connor and Lady Caitlin Bareigh. They are good friends with Sir Robert and Sir Stephen. They also own 4 express engines. They own 2 Royal Scots, an A4 Pacific, and curiously a West County. The Royal Scots and the West County are named after the Duke, Duchess, and their daughter. They pull excursions around Britain and sometimes to Sodor. Sometimes they help out with other jobs on the island. This section begins with Connor and ends with Rebecca.
