Culdee is the fourth of the original five. Even though he is No. 4, he is still the namesake of the railway. He was the first engine to be trialed in 1899, before the line was opened. He passed and went on to pull the trains for the railway. Since he was named after the railway, Culdee was run the most often out of all of the engines. He ran on the line for more than 60 years, until he was sent to Crovan's Gate in 1962. This was considerably less expensive than sending him back to Switzerland. He was there for about a year because there was a lot of work that needed to be done on him. The same could be said for another engine that Culdee knew, Godred. They both caught up for the next year and went back to their railways. Before they left on Donald's good train, Culdee talked to some of the engines from the SKR. He told them Godred's tragic tale but neglected to mention that Godred was on the same train as him. Once he was unloaded, he said goodbye to Godred and Donald. After that he continued to run trains on the CFR to this day.
