Minda slumped down on the bed feeling dizzy. He had cried and gone through so many emotions he no longer had any energy. Kai could tell with a single touch that Minda's fever had returned. Worried, he decided to ask Doctor Tianzhou to come over again to check on him.

"MinMin, I'm going to get the doctor. Is there anything you want while I'm gone?"

"No, I'm just going to sleep. You don't have to rush back and can visit your friend." Minda said as he curled up under the blankets.

"I'll be back soon." Kai said, completely ignoring Minda's suggestion. As Kai was about to leave Huan jumped down from the bed to follow him. Minda looked at Xianli who was comfortably laying next to him.

"Are you not going with them?" Minda asked. Xianli opened his mouth wide and yawned in response. Happy for the company Minda pulled Xianli closer and hugged him tight. Kai who saw what was happening couldn't help feeling a little sour as he left the hut.

...

"Coming here this early, has something happened?" Doctor Tianzhou asked when Kai walked into his clinic.

"Minda's fever returned."

"What did you do? I specifically told you he needed rest." Doctor Tianzhou immediately blamed Kai for Minda's worsening health.

"Something unexpected and upsetting happened last night." Kai vaguely explained.

"Sigh*... Kai you need to take better care of him." The doctor said with an accusatory sigh.

"I'm trying but that damn stone is just too brittle." Kai grumbled under his breath.

"Why are you blaming your inability to care for your spouse on a stone?" General Lei question from behind him.

"General, having both of you visit this early in the day is worrisome. Has something occurred with Sir?" Doctor Tianzhou asked.

"We're both perfectly healthy. I only stopped by because I noticed this guy." General Lei said with a cocky smile as he smacked Kai's shoulder. Kai glared back unable to say anything in his defence.

"That is excellent news. As for the young Minda, let's quickly go and give him a check up." Doctor Tianzhou said as he took his medical kit from the corner of the room.

"I appreciate the haste."

Kai pushed General Lei aside and cleared a path for the doctor. Despite treating him like a nuisance General Lei was determined to follow along.

"Last night neither of you came to dinner. I did send someone to bring you soup but did you eat or were you too busy making your little soulmate sick again?" General Lei asked. The way he spoke insinuated something Kai did not do and only annoyed him.

"Can you stop assuming I'm the reason he has a fever?" Kai growled.

"Is there anyone else to blame?"

Kai desperately wanted to blame Minda's current situation on the stone but to put it into words made it seem idiotic.

"Don't you have something better to do?" Kai grumbled instead.

"Mao did such a great job while I was gone I have the entire morning free." General Lei bragged.

"You should spend it together with Sir or surveying the area?"

"I can do that any day. Today, I was thinking of spending it with my favourite son and son-in-law."

"Minda needs rest. A lot of rest. In fact don't come bother us for the next two weeks."

"About that, I sent Kang a message last night and got his reply this morning."
