Chapter 87: Return

After a few rounds Minda was left drained of all his energy. His breath was ragged and he felt sticky and hot. Kai on the other hand had energy to spare and a healthy glow to him. He slowly tried to slip away but Minda groaned while he tried to move away.

"Where are you going?" Minda asked his voice cracking as he spoke. Kai gave Minda a kiss on the forehead.

"I'm going to have them prepare the bath."

"I want to sleep for a bit." Minda said as he tried to crawl back into Kai's embrace. His cute attempt to cuddle pulled at Kai's heartstrings. He wanted to just hug him but couldn't. The room was only available for a few hours and they would need to leave soon.

"Sorry MinMin. We don't have time. We can take a nap and lay down after returning to the campsite." Kai explained while trying to slip out of bed again.

"We're  going back? What about the sweet shop and trying different stalls?" Minda said feeling a little regretful of going back after doing very little.

"We can still go if you are feeling up to it." Kai said despite knowing Minda was in no condition to go shopping.

"The day is gone if we just go back." Minda pitifully muttered. He knew he wouldn't be able to handle going anywhere in his current condition but still felt the need to complain.

"We can come back tomorrow." Kai comforted.

"We can't. General Lei only gave us today off." Minda said.

"I'll talk to him about giving us time to come back."

"Will he agree?"

"I'm not a soldier or his subordinate. If I want to take the day off I can." Kai said. Minda knew it wasn't that simple but chose to ignore his doubts and trust Kai.

"Okay."

With Minda's acquiescence Kai got out of bed and put on his undergarment. He then walked over to ring the bell. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. Kai made sure Minda was completely hidden behind the thick drapes surrounding the bed before answering it. He didn't care if he was seen but he wouldn't let anyone see Minda.

Opening the door he was surprised to see four woman carrying large buckets of hot water and another rolling a tub. He assumed he would need to request the bath first and after some time things would be ready. Instead the staff wasted no time in setting the tub up in the centre of the room. Kai moved Minda's wheelchair out of the way for them and watched as they poured the boiling hot water into the tub. After pouring their buckets they left to get more buckets of cooler water until the tub was half filled.

"Please use these." The woman politely said as she handed Kai a basket of soaps, towels, and wash cloths. Kai took the basket and before he could thank them the women had all disappeared out of the room.

"How professional." Kai couldn't help but think.

With the room empty again he walked over to the bed and pulled back the drapes.

"MinMin, are you ready?"

Minda hummed with his arms raised for Kai to pick him up in response.

The tub was smaller than Minda was used to but he was small enough to fit. Kai however had to remain outside and could only crouch down next to the tub as he helped Minda wash.

"How are we going get back to the campsite?" Minda asked as he leaned over the edge of the tub. Kai wanted to take advantage of the hot water and time of day and was carefully washing Minda's long silver hair.
