Nobody really knows the truth about Steve and Johnny. From the moment the public noticed their uncanny resemblance, jokes began flying around that they were long-lost twin brothers—despite the fact that they lived in entirely different time periods.
Still, word got out to both of them, and curiosity brought the Avenger and the Fantastic Four member together. Upon meeting, they were stunned: they looked exactly alike. To confirm, they took a DNA test.
To everyone's surprise, they were twin brothers.
And with that revelation came more questions than answers. How could Steve have been born on July 4, 1918, while Johnny was raised in the modern day? And what about Susan, Johnny's sister—how could she be related to him but not to Steve?
Some say it's a case of time travel shenanigans. But so far, the mystery remains unsolved.
Despite the confusing circumstances, Steve and Johnny decided to get to know each other better. They often jog together and catch movies when they can. And though their personalities clash in some areas, they get along surprisingly well—except when it comes to one topic: love.
Steve, raised in a different era, is a true gentleman. He opens doors, pays for dinners, brings fresh flowers, and always offers his jacket when his date is cold. Johnny, on the other hand, is the complete opposite—more impulsive, more casual. He's into fun, adventure, extreme sports, hot tubs, and hookups—something Steve would never do on a first date.
And that difference is what sparks the conflict—on a day neither of them expected.
"Is that cutie Y/N?"
The twins are sitting at the SHIELD cafeteria. During their lunch, Johnny notices someone walking by—Steve's colleague and fellow Avenger, Y/N.
Steve has secretly developed feelings for him, but he's kept that to himself. Hearing Johnny's words irks him.
"Yes, that's him." Steve replies.
"Wow, he looks even better in person." Johnny says with a grin, eyeing him up. "Think he'd go on a date with me?"
"Don't treat him like your other dates. He doesn't deserve that."
"Well, maybe he likes to be treated that way." Johnny counters with a casual shrug.
As if on cue, Y/N spots the two and starts walking over. He's never met Johnny, so curiosity gets the better of him.
"Hey, Steve. This must be Johnny." Y/N greets with a friendly smile.
Johnny shakes his hand confidently. "The one and only." He gestures to the empty seat beside him. "Join us. The more, the merrier."
"Sure." Y/N sits down, while Steve inwardly hopes this doesn't end with Johnny stealing his crush.
"You two really do look alike." Y/N says, glancing between them. "The only way I can tell you apart is by your hair."
"That's not the only difference." Steve assures. "Once you get to know him, you'll find a long list of things we don't have in common."
"Like being cooler, playing video games, knowing how to have a good time—" Johnny lists his pros, clearly trying to impress.
Steve doesn't let it slide. "Like sleeping with countless people, having no sense of responsibility, and lacking empathy."
Johnny shoots him a glare. Y/N watches them both, a bit awkward but smiling—it all just seems like typical sibling banter.
"I can tell you're brothers." Y/N laughs.
