With the year coming to an end, the entire school had been decorated with Christmas decorations. In the cafeteria, there was a massive Christmas tree. Although the magical day hadn't arrived yet, everyone was feeling the holiday vibes. Since it was still morning, the team was eating their breakfast, though Tony was still missing.
"Why do we need to learn math?" Pietro complained as he got tutored by Y/N. "This isn't high school."
Y/N looked at his assignment. "It isn't, but... looking at your math skills, I think you need to go back."
"Learning to calculate quickly is critical during missions." Steve said. "Not only for engineering machines, but also on the battlefield."
"Really?" Pietro raised an eyebrow. "Give me an example."
"I'll give you one." Wanda spoke up. "If you don't do it and we go out on the field, I'll force you to go back and make it."
As the group continued eating, two of the other teams' leaders arrived at the table. Scott Summers and Rhodes met the eyes of the Avenger leader.
"Remember our meetings." Scott said. "We can't afford to even relax, sadly."
Y/N sighed. "Don't remind me... It's going to be hard to forget all the stuff we still need to go through."
"At least you won't be the only one." Rhodes commented before he and Scott walked away.
The team looked curious at Y/N. "Everything going alright, Lucky?" Thor asked.
"Yeah, but the school wants us to do some reports on our teams." Y/N said, sounding a bit frustrated. "I have to go through each individual teammate to write down what they do well, what they do poorly, everything in between, and what they need to learn. Then, I need to write about how the entire team works together. And then I need to write even more stuff and help out the other team leaders with suggestions on how their teams can improve."
"Sounds like a good excuse to use ChatGPT." Pietro commented.
"I only use it to check my spelling and grammar." Y/N replied tiredly. "It's not like I can ask, 'Write something nice about my teammate, Pietro,' and get something basic like, 'He can work well.'"
"Well, how long is it going to take to get through all that?" Natasha asked.
"Probably until the last day of this school year." Y/N said, meaning he had a week left. "And it isn't just writing reports; it's also some dumb meetings."
"I'm glad I'm not the leader of the team." Clint pointed out, sounding a bit brash.
"Guys, guys, guys!" Everyone looked aside as Tony stormed toward the group, holding a paper with excitement. "Guess what I found."
"Your girlfriend's pregnancy test." Clint responded.
"Your dignity." Steve said.
"Your first F." Natasha commented.
"Wow, rude." Tony said with a quick eye roll before placing the paper on the table.
Everyone saw a flyer, looking very festive for the season. At the top it said, 'Annual Yule Ball', along with the text: 'Come December 20th with your date and/or friends to the ball and have a merry time.'
"A ball?" Clint already sounded tired. "Who's going to some dumb ball?"
"C'mon, Clint." Natasha said, looking intrigued. "Ever want to go somewhere romantic? Somewhere you and your date can dance all night and maybe find love?"
"No." Clint said coldly.
"Really?" Natasha smirked. "Not when it comes to a cute girl?" The archer remained quiet. "Or... a handsome stud?" Clint stayed silent, though he instantly looked at Y/N before looking away, hiding his blush. Black Widow noticed and smirked, though she kept quiet about it.
