The Avengers were used to strange circumstances. Whether it was fighting aliens, meeting gods of Asgard, or dealing with supernatural powers, they often stumbled into situations that defied explanation.

It happened a week ago, when the Avengers faced a group of cult members who had stolen something valuable from the government. Apparently, they intended to use it for a ritual. Naturally, the Avengers had to stop them.

That night, Steve was fighting alone outside in the darkness. Though cautious, he was holding his own.

To his surprise, light suddenly broke through the sky, blinding everyone. As they looked up, an angel fell from the heavens. Sword in hand, he plunged down, cleaving an enemy in two upon landing. Steve froze for a moment in shock, but quickly forced himself to focus on the battle instead of questioning who—or what—the newcomer was.

After the fight, it was revealed that the angel truly was an angel from the heavens: Y/N, sent to destroy darkness and evil in the world. Since his mission aligned with theirs, the Avengers agreed to let him work with them for a while.

Curious to know him better, Steve went to the gym, where Y/N was training with his sword. His wings flapped lightly as he moved with elegant precision, still wearing his usual battle robes.

"You're doing alright, Y/N?" Steve asked.

Y/N stopped and glanced over. "Ah, Captain America."

"You can just call me Steve." The blonde said calmly.

"Very well, Steve." From his tone alone, Steve could tell Y/N was far too serious—even compared to him. "I am doing well. I am grateful for the shelter and food your people have provided."

"It's no problem."

"I must repay my debts." Y/N lowered his sword to the floor and bowed deeply. Steve's eyes widened in shock.

"From now on, I will slay any evil that dares to touch or harm you. With my sword, I will purge all who threaten you. No matter what, I will remain at your side. That is my oath."

"Uhmm..." Steve had thought Thor was the odd one, but this angel was something else entirely. "You didn't have to do that."

"Of course I did." Y/N stood straight again. "It is what I owe you."

"You know it's not just me allowing you to stay here—it's SHIELD as a whole, right?"

Steve instantly regretted saying that. Something clicked in Y/N's expression. "Please excuse me—"

"No, no, wait!" Steve quickly grabbed his hand before he could walk away. "You don't have to do that. You being here and helping out is good enough."

Y/N hesitated, then nodded. "Very well. However, my oath to you still stands."

"Good." Steve gave him a quick, reassuring smile. "Let me know if you need anything."

As he turned toward the exit, Steve noticed footsteps behind him. He stopped, raising an eyebrow.

"Uhm... what are you doing?"

"My oath requires me to stay at your side." Y/N replied seriously.

Steve frowned. "Like... now? Always?"

"Always."

He stared at him for a few seconds. "How literally do I need to take that?"

"As I said, my oath requires me to remain at your side."
