After Steve fully committed to the team, things improved noticeably. Not just in class, but outside as well. Everyone seemed to get along — for the most part. They ate breakfast and dinner together every day. Even outside of school, the groups would hang out. With these strengthened bonds, they prepared for the next class: TSTD, short for Tactical Strategy and Team Dynamics, where a new challenge awaited them.

"On Friday, the 29th of November, you'll have a special test." The teacher announced, drawing the students' attention. "This one will challenge you to work as one unit. It's Capture The Flag."

The students exchanged intrigued glances as the teacher continued.

"Over the course of about two weeks, you'll be taken to an area where each team must protect their own flag while attempting to capture the others'. I advise you to prepare and strategize thoroughly beforehand. When the day comes, you'll need to rely on that preparation, your teamwork, and your skills on the field."

Scott Summers raised his hand, and the teacher nodded at him.

"Yes, Summers?"

"Will our grades be based on how many flags we capture by the end?"

"That's a good question." The teacher said, addressing the whole class. "Your grade will not be determined by how many flags you have at the end — or even by capturing flags at all. Instead, it will be based on your strategy and teamwork. As long as you demonstrate those, you'll do fine."

Bucky was the next to raise his hand.

"Barnes."

"I take it the goal isn't to beat each other up?"

"That's correct." The teacher replied firmly. "Violence with the intent to seriously hurt someone will not be tolerated. However, you're allowed to set traps to block or stall opposing teams. You may also use your strength to move opponents out of your way."

"Without hurting them?" Piotr asked.

"Yes. Basic fighting techniques are permitted — basically sparring methods."

"What about our powers?" Bobby inquired.

"As long as you don't cause harm, all powers are allowed."

The X-Men exchanged happy glances at that.

Y/N glanced at the rest of their team. Between The Avengers, The X-Men, The Vanguard, The Oracles, and The Eight Hounds, there were five teams total. Each knew they would be opponents on the field. Though it was just a school test, it would be the first time these teams clashed against each other in a serious competition.

"Remember, preparation will be key." The teacher said. "Use every tool and tactic you have to create the best strategy. You will have 30 minutes to prepare at your base, then one hour to protect your flag and capture others'. Starting now, you're no longer just classmates — you're opponents. I wish you the best of luck."

After class, the group quickly gathered in an empty classroom. Everyone sat around a large table, while Y/N and Steve carried in a big whiteboard and some markers, setting them up at one end. No further preparation was needed—they were ready for their first team meeting.

"So... how are we going to approach this?" Tony asked, sounding skeptical. "Just wing it and hope for good luck?"

"We'll be the first to get knocked out if we do that." Steve replied firmly. "You're smarter than that, Tony."
