Although down on his luck, Steve Rogers was still determined to join his husband and best friend in the fray. Because of his good heart and iron will, he was entrusted with the superhuman serum, and thus a war hero was born.

After enduring numerous struggles, Steve was finally shipped overseas to Europe to join the battlefield. While eager to fight, he soon learned that a certain platoon had been captured—the very same one Bucky and Y/N were in.

Determined, he infiltrated the enemy base to rescue his allies. In the shadows, he silently dispatched soldier after soldier, making his way deeper into the compound. Soon, he found Bucky, dazed but alive, and freed him. Yet one soldier remained unaccounted for.

Venturing into the deepest part of the base, Steve entered a room he had not yet seen. Inside, in the dim light, he spotted a tired and worn-out Y/N, who had heard the commotion of the fight. As Y/N stood, squinting in the flickering light, he recognized the voice but couldn't immediately place it.

"I'm here to free you. No need to worry." Steve said.

Confused, Y/N adjusted his vision. Then, stepping fully into the light, he saw Steve—no longer the meek kid who had always struggled to be strong. This was Captain America: tall, confident, and fully transformed.

"Steve...? How are you here? What happened to you?" Y/N asked, disbelief in his voice.

Steve moved closer. Y/N noticed the striking change: his husband was now around the same height as him, exuding strength and authority. With swift precision, Steve slammed his shield against the lock, breaking it open. Then, he pulled the door wide.

"We can talk about it later. Right now, we need to get you safe."

The next morning, the American army witnessed firsthand the emergence of Steve Rogers, as he returned with every prisoner. With the US Army behind him, a legend was born: the American hero with a shield, protector of his people and allies alike.

As soldiers were being checked and cleared, and after speaking briefly with Peggy, Steve set out to find his husband. Walking through the medical tents, he finally spotted Y/N having his blood tested via a pressure check.

"I swear, they did something to me." Y/N said to the doctor. "I was pulled away, and there was this... creepy Nazi scientist who did stuff to me while I was unconscious."

The doctor hummed. "Well, as of right now, you seem more than healthy enough. I can run some additional tests, which will take a while, but I don't see anything concerning."

Hearing this, Steve approached. Y/N flinched at the sight of him, still not used to the blonde's new, imposing presence. Steve's expression softened with concern. "You got tortured?"

"N-No... I don't think—"

"No signs of torture." the doctor interrupted, removing the test from Y/N's arm. "There are no wounds. I did, however, notice some needle marks around his torso." Steve's eyes flicked to his husband, worry evident.

"Still, no signs of poison or internal damage have been detected. No other soldiers have recorded anything like this yet. We'll run additional tests to be sure." The doctor added.

He looked at the recently freed soldier. "Stay around people, just in case something happens. If you feel odd or sick, report to one of us immediately. Otherwise, try to resume your duties."

Y/N exhaled a relieved, though concerned, sigh. "Thanks, Doc."

Standing, he made his way to the tent's exit, with Steve following closely. Once outside, and seeing the coast was clear, Steve grabbed his husband's shoulder firmly. Y/N flinched at the strength of his grip.
