Anger.

She couldn't explain why or how, but all she felt inside was pure anger. Anger with her boss, her job, her other boss at the DEO, her sister, her friends, the entire world. It was like all bad feelings she buried inside for so long, were all coming to the surface, all at once. She felt underappreciated by everyone surrounding her and she felt like she had enough.

She had been balancing her life as Kara Danvers, the nice friend and dedicated assistant that used to put everyone else's needs above hers, and Kara Zor-El, the Kryptonian with super powers. She was the good sister and daughter, who obeyed her adoptive parents and shut down the one side of her that made her feel free, she had buried her Kryptonian heritage, pretending to be human, all so she could end in a miserable job with an annoying boss that refused to even get her name right. She was tired of being the pet alien to a secret government facility, the kind alien that had all the power in the world and got stuck into helping them catch bad aliens, serve the country, all for free.

She was tired of being the good and nice Supergirl.

Since Kara joined the DEO, she wondered about her cousin, and how he worked alone, not being bossed around by anyone, he made his own choices and did things the best he could, and she was more than willing to try that now, but on her own way. She also got tired of the Good Samaritan look, so she was also ready for a drastic makeover. She found the perfect outfits at a store nearby and picked tight black pants, dark blue navy tank top and a black and jacket. She zipped the jacket up and stared at the mirror, feeling tired of everything around her. Maybe she also needed some new fresh air, she thought.

Kara used her super speed and rushed out, flying high in the sky and faster than she had ever been before. Everything around her was nothing more than a blur. She went past the city limits and kept going on until she noticed a weird blue smoke wormhole opening in front of her, and she couldn't stop in time, going straight into it. It felt like she was in a tunnel of blue smoke, and different scenes appeared around her, with different people in each scene. She went further in until she finally got out, stopping abruptly in the middle of the street. She looked back and saw a huge truck coming into her direction and flew up in the sky really fast. She looked confused, trying to figure out where in Rao's name she was, until she heard gun shots and it sounded like a big fight was happening nearby. She smiled, thinking about how it was time for her to have some fun.

Kara followed the sound and found a few gang members fighting a guy dressed all in green leather, with a mask covering his eyes and a hood. He had a quiver on his back full of arrows, a bow in his hand and he aimed to one of the men, shooting and causing a small explosion, making Kara look really interested. She admired his fighting style, noticing how ruthless and violent he was, so different than everyone who ever helped her on her city. That man had impressive skills, he didn't seem afraid of doing what had to be done and she could see he didn't even think twice if he had to break an arm or a leg, he went for it and that kind of excited her. She noticed another man aiming to shoot behind his back and she decided to interfere. She landed right behind the hooded guy, as the other guy shot and she stopped the bullet with her hand and rushed out of the scene, before he could notice her there. She used her x-ray vision, seeing a really handsome guy under the mask. She could tell he had been through a lot, because he had a lot of scars all over his body. And what a body, she thought noticing he was really fit. Her eyes went back to his eyes and she smiled, figuring things out. He was the savior of that city, just like she was National City's protector, but he didn't have any powers, at least he didn't seem to have any. The way he was dealing with the gang, told her he had experience and by the way they reacted, she could tell he was the kind of guy that put fear in people, at least his way of fighting, dealing with criminals, his modulated voice, his suit... It all indicated he wasn't a colorful cute guy trying to save the world, like her cousin. No, he was more like his cousin's friend, the crazy bat guy, she thought.
