"Yasmin stop pulling to tightly. Jessie come save me." I tease.

We're over at Yasmin's house, having a girls day and treating ourselves to pizza and the usual, gossip. Yasmin tugs on my hair a bit harder but finally finishes the braid.

"Perfect! Now let me do your make up." She says as she spins the chair around and gets her kit out.

"So Madison, you wanna come and sleep over at my place tonight? It's been forever." Says Jess with a soft smile.

"Ya sure. We can stop by my house on the way there and pick up a few things."

"Alrighty."

"What about you Yasmin, any plans for tonight?" I ask.

"I'm going to see Daquan today, and I think he's treating me to a nice dinner. It better not be no damn McDonald's."

"At least you got coupons somewhere around here." I laugh.

"Ha ha mad funny, your boyfriend's all the way in Europe so suck it."

I give her a look but stay shut and scroll through my phone.

"Madison what college did you get accepted to again?" Asks Jess.

I think I should probably tell them now. This is going to be a disaster.

"Berkley and Miami University... But I might be attending a different one." I add on quietly.

"What do you mean?" Asks Yasmin.

"Well, being that college is four years, and Nathan and I are already in a long distance relationship, I was thinking that I might attend a college in Europe."

I look down after seeing both their eyes widen. Yasmin puts the make up brush down and folds her arms across her chest.

"Europe?!"

"Yes."

"Why in the hell.. What if you don't like it there. What if you can't stand being over there and want a flight back home. These things cost money and you're not rich."

"I know Yas but there's a bigger place out there than just America, and Nathan and I can possibly have an amazing future together. And I know it might sound silly or crazy of me to be thinking of this, but this might just be my chance of a life time. I don't want to wonder for the rest of my life, what could have been. I want to see what it's like and if it's meant to be then all will go well. If not? I'll learn from a mistake and it won't be repeated. All I'm saying is I only have one life and I plan on living it the way I know will make me happy. Because nowadays, it's nearly impossible to do just that."

She looks at me with worry but I can slowly see her body begin to relax.

"Madison if this is what's going to make you happy, I'm one hundred percent on board with you. You deserve this, and you two deserve each other."

She hugs me tightly and I thank her. Suddenly Jessie stands up and looks at me with confusion.

"B..but Madison.. What are you going to say to your mom like. What about your family, or your friends here? Why are you even doing this." She raises her voice.

I've never seen this side of Jessie. She seemed so vulnerable but enraged at the same time.

"Jess, I'm planning on telling my mom soon but I can just lay it out yet. And I'm going to miss all of you but it's not like it's goodbye forever, we're still going to talk..-"

"Just forget it. Forget everything and forget me. You seem to already have done that, haven't you."

She storms out of the house leaving Yasmin and I in complete shock.
