Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 6

Jay listened for Nath's gentle snores before he grabbed his phone and texted Siva.

Jay: Mate get over here I need to tell you something

"Tell me what?" Siva asked as he entered the room.

"Shut the door and get over here," Jay whispered.

"Okay I'm here...what do you need mate?" Siva asked.

"Ummm...so something happened. Twice actually..." Jay said.

"Tell me." Siva urged.

"Okay, remember when we were in the bathroom? When I was about to...you know..." Jay asked.

"Yeah...?" Siva asked.

"Well...we sort of...kissed." Jay whispered.

"...oh. Well does Nathan know?" Siva asked.

"That's the thing...we sorta were making out...like intensely...and then Nath walked in." Jay whispered.

Siva looked at him and whispered "Did he see you two?"

"Yes." Jay said.

"How do you know?" Siva looked at him, ready for an answer.

"He stopped mid-sentence and then ran away crying." Jay said.

"Well...he seems okay now." Siva explained.

"Yeah...but then..." Jay said. Siva looked at him, waiting for Jay's answer. "We were at the hospital and when Nath went to get her some pills, we sorta made out again. This time it went even further...to the point where we were telling each other that we wanted to be in my bedroom..."

"...oh my god...so does that mean she's choosing you?" Siva asked.

"I don't know. Nathan walked in after we had covered it all up, but I was stupidly happy so I think he suspects something and I can't let him find out 'cause it'll crush him." Jay said.

"So what are you going to do? With Nathan I mean." Siva asked curiously.

"I guess...I just don't tell him..." Jay replied.

Siva sighed and said, "Mate...he already suspects something. If he ever found out that you both lied to him...it'll hurt him more."

"How am I supposed to tell him..? 'Oh yeah by the way, while she was making her decision we practically got it on?' Plus, I feel bad for telling her that I was suicidal...I feel like it's pressuring her to pick me," Jay said.

"Mate, you're not pressuring her to do anything. You told her the truth, and that's like the number one thing in a relationship. If she never wanted to make out with you she wouldn't have. Plus, she has the history with Nathan. So, how did the second kiss start. Who kissed first?" Siva asked.

"Well I started talking about the first kiss and she said 'we could revisit that' and then she kissed me." Jay said.

"It sounds like she's going to pick you, if she wasn't then she wouldn't have said that." Siva explained.

"But she's worried about the fans...it would look terrible if she dumped Nath for me," Jay said, worried.

"I guess that's a battle she would have to be willing to take." Siva rubbed Jay's arm as a sign of encouragement.

"I just...I'd feel horrible for Nath. She's his girl, and I'm stealing her away," Jay said.

"Jay look...if she actually never wanted you, she wouldn't keep up the fight. It wouldn't be that hard of a decision. If she never wanted you then why did she make out with you at the hospital?" Siva whispered. "As for you and Nath, you guys are the best of mates, nothing bad will happen to ruin that."

"I guess," Jay whispered, eventually falling asleep from exhaustion right then and there.

Siva left the room when Jay fell asleep and went back to his room where Nareesha was sleeping. He got into bed and sighed at the newfound information from Jay. "What's wrong baba?" She asked, waking up.

"Just some problems, but I'll tell you in the morning. Go back to sleep, beautiful." Nareesha obliged as Siva kissed her cheek and eventually fell asleep.

The next morning, Jay woke Nathan up and they got ready to go to the hospital. They arrived ten minutes later and were very excited to take you home. "Hey love!" Nathan said, awkwardly trying to hug you without hurting you.

"Hey!" You replied hugging him back.

"How are you feeling?" Nathan asked, kissing your nose.

"Better than yesterday that's for sure." You said.

"That's great," Jay said, taking hold of your wheelchair and pushing you while Nathan stood to the side of you, holding your hand. There would be paps outside and you wanted it to look like you and Nath were still together until you made your decision.

You arrived outside. You were pretty surprised that there weren't many of them out there, probably because of Scooter. But, just incase, you had Nathan peck you on the lips, not that you minded him pecking you on the lips. In fact, he cupped your face with his hands and deepened the kiss. You smiled into it, and realized you were almost close to crying because of all the good memories it brought back. When he pulled away, he whispered, "Why are you crying love?"

You whispered back, "Because it brought back all of the memories." Nathan had an expression of pure joy on his face as he smiled back at you and kissed your forehead.

Jay looked over at you two, jealousy would definitely be an understatement. He then helped you get into the car because Nathan wasn't strong enough. "Nath, you're too weak!" Jay joked. Nathan blushed.

"Awww Nathan," you said, sticking your tongue out. Jay helped you in the car and closed the door. Nathan drove while you leaned on Jay's shoulder on the way back.

"We're back love," Jay whispered into your hair.

"Thank you." You said as you pecked him on the lips. Nathan opened the door for you and helped you get out. You smiled at him gratefully as he wheeled you into the house.

Once inside, an explosion of cheers and hugs came at you from the other lads and the girls. "How are you feeling?" Tom asked, giving you a hug.

"Like shit, but okay I guess." You said.

Max played with your ear, "the girl's back!"

"Max, stop! You know I don't like that!" You said to him. He laughed and messed up your hair before walking away.

The girls basically ran up and hugged you, you were like a sister to them now. "Aww babe how are you feeling?" Nareesha asked.

"Now that I'm home and Max stopped playing with my ear, better." You say with a laugh.

"Hey! You know you like it!" Max said as Siva came over to give you a hug.

"Yeah right Maxxie!!!" You felt a little tension once Siva gave you a hug. 'Wonder what that's about?' You thought.

You started to wheel yourself over to the kitchen, you were absolutely starving. Siva was in there, alone. "What's up Seev?" You asked. He looked up at you, sympathetically.

"Can we talk...privately?" He asked.

"Ummm...sure," you said, worried. "But it sorta has to be on this floor," you said, gesturing to your wheelchair.

"Let's go out on the porch then. It's quiet and nobody is out there." Siva said, motioning outside.
