You heard the sound of a loud conversation coming from a janitor's closet. You decided to listen in before entering.

"SHE'S KILLING ME!" You heard Nathan scream. You were shocked at how he was reacting, he wasn't himself.

"Nathan please," you heard Max plead. "Please Nath. There are plenty more birds in the trees."

"I DON'T CARE!!!" You heard Nathan scream. "...she's the only one I'll ever want..."

You listened to the rest of the conversation, your heart breaking with every word you heard. You slid down the wall and sobbed from frustration. "How am I supposed to do this?" You asked yourself.

Your thoughts drifted back to when you were talking to Kelsey and Nareesha. Back to when you were figuring out how to break it to either of the guys. You remembered what you had said and decided to go with it. You tried to wipe your tears, but only succeeded in smearing your mascara. You took a deep breath and opened the closet door.

You saw three of the lads on the floor, trying to comfort Nathan as he cried. "...Nathan?" You asked in a small voice.

Chapter 30

He looked up to see you and you saw just how hurt he was. "Oh my god...Nathan..." You said, your hand covering your mouth as you were in complete shock.

Seeing you made him cry even more. Surprisingly though, he stood up and walked closer to you. His hand caressed your cheek. "Why have you been crying?" He asked through tears of his own.

"Because you're crying. Because you're hurt," you replied, as though it was that simple of an answer.

He looked at you. You could see that he was trying to fight back his love, trying to hate you. "Nathan, I don't want this to change us, I still want us to be close friends. But if you no longer want to...I understand," you said, a tear escaping your eye.

He looked away, fighting back tears, pulling at his hair. "...Nathan?" You asked, obviously hurt as you choked out his name.

"I can't be friends with you," he said, making your heart break. "but I can't hate you either." He continued. "The truth is, I'll always love you," he whispered, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Nathan I don't want to lose you!!!" You screamed through tears.

"I don't want to lose you either!!!" He screamed back. "BUT IT LOOKS LIKE I ALREADY HAVE!"

"What happened to no matter what happens we'll always be okay? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU BEING MY STRENGTH BECAUSE YOU'RE THE ONE TAKING IT AWAY RIGHT NOW!!!" You yelled at him, bawling.

He punched a wall and fell to the ground crying. "What happened to us being forever? To you saying that I was the only one you wanted?" He whispered.

"Do you think this was an easy decision?! That I wanted all of this to happen?! I didn't because this was so fucking hard, Nathan! Do you not understand that?!" You spat at him.

"I understand that!" He yelled. "You know what I don't understand?" He screamed. He ran up to you and crashed his lips against yours as you shared an angry, passionate kiss. You broke apart from him, totally confused and frustrated. "I don't understand that after all the times we've done that, you still don't care about me," he whispered.

"I do care about you, Nathan!" You screamed at him. "Why don't you understand that?! I'm trying to make an effort to be at least friends with you!"
