Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 91

Nathan grabbed a beer and sat down, watching a footie game. "You alright Nath? You seem upset," Nareesha asked, walking into the room.

"I'm fine," he said dismissively.

"Liar," Nareesha said, not giving up on him.

"So what if I am? Doesn't change anything." He mumbled.

"Yes it does and you know it," Nareesha said.

"It doesn't get her back, okay? So stop," Nathan spat.

"Nathan..." Nareesha said, taken aback.

"Look, I'm sorry Nareesha, but you'll always have Siva. You don't understand," Nathan said.

"Maybe I don't fully understand what you're going through, but that doesn't mean you have to act like a jerk to people who want to help," Nareesha said.

"I'm sorry. Really. It's just hard. As soon as I think I've gotten over her, it hits me like a truck," Nathan said.

"Then try not to think about her as much, it's going to kill you if you do," Nareesha said.

"I can't stop! Everything reminds me of her!" Nathan said, looking as if he was going to cry.

"I'm sorry Nathan..." Nareesha said sincerely.

"I am too," Nathan whispered.

*Meanwhile with you*

You and Jay finished your meal, standing up and preparing to leave. "Was everything okay tonight?" Vanessa asked.

"It was great, thank you," Jay said, paying the bill.

"Remember to call him tonight, okay?" You smiled.

"Gotcha," she said, smiling.

Jay took your hand and led you out of the restaurant. "It's chilly, have my jacket," Jay said, smiling.

"Thank you," you said, wrapping the jacket around you and smiling at him appreciatively.

Jay gave you a cheeky grin and bent down in front of you. "Hop on," he said.

You giggled like a child and got on his back as he carried you. He ran to the car with you on his back and you were pretty sure some paps had gotten pictures, but you didn't care. You loved Jay so much. He set you down gently and opened the car door for you. You sat down, taking off his jacket as Jay climbed in the car. "Tonight was great, thank you," you said, pressing your lips against his.

"It was nothing, lovely," Jay smiled.

"It was everything, Jay," you said, hugging him.

"Well you deserve it because you're my everything," he said, smiling into the hug. You pulled away. You couldn't even believe how perfect everything seemed when you were with him. Jay pressed his lips to yours gently, caressing your cheek. You kissed him back, your lips moving in sync. You put your hand at the back of his neck, controlling the kiss and pulled away slowly, smiling at him.

"Uhh...let's get going," Jay said awkwardly.

"Right," you said, blushing. He started the car and drove the two of you home.

Jay helped you out of the car and wrapped an arm around your waist, walking you inside. Everyone was in the living room, watching TV. "How was your night?" Kelsey asked.

"Great," you said, smiling. You both walked over to the couch and sat down. Jay had reached over and held your hand, kissing it. You smiled at him, genuinely smiled. You got up and excused yourself to go get changed. Once upstairs, you saw a new tweet from Jay.
