Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 78

*Meanwhile with Nath*

Nathan sat on his bed, staring at nothing in particular, but thinking about you. Would you ever forgive him? Probably not. Those were the most foul words he had ever said and he directed them to a person who never deserved them. "You're just an impatient horny bitch," he thought over and over.

"Wow, I'm a fucking dick." He muttered.

He heard you and Jay downstairs talking, but couldn't make out what you were saying. "They're probably talking about me," Nathan thought. "They're talking about how much they hate me and how they're going to avoid me."

He pulled on his jacket. "I'll just go straight to the studio, even if it's 3 hours early," Nathan said, really angry with himself.

He needed a way to make it out the door without you or anybody stopping him. He just wanted to be left alone where he could deal with his sadness. So, he decided that he could climb out of his window. There was a vine there to help him, and it seemed to be his best bet. He opened the window and climbed down carefully. Once he hit the ground he quickly ran over to the car, making sure nobody saw him. He started driving to the studio and once he arrived, he quickly got out of his car and walked inside.

*Meanwhile with you and Jay*

"Jay?" You said, concerned, "he should be up by now."

"Should we go get him?" Jay asked.

"Yeah," you said, grabbing his hand and walking upstairs. Jay opened the door for you as you both walked inside, discovering an empty room and an open window. "Fuck!" You said.

"Where'd the hell he go?" Jay asked, nervous.

"I don't know Jay, but I'm nervous," you said, really worried.

"I am too," Jay said. "Maybe he just went out to get something to eat?"

"Doubt it," you said.

"I'll text him," Jay said.

Jay: Where are you? We looked in your room and you weren't there.

Nathan stared at the screen, unsure whether to reply. He decided to lie.

Nathan: They called me into the studio early and I'm working late tonight.

Jay read the message. "Well that's a lie," he said.

"What'd he say?" You asked.

Jay showed you the message. "Damn it. Jay, I'm worried," you said.

"I am too," Jay said, re-reading the message.

Tom walked into the room. "What are we worried about?"

"Nathan's gone..." Jay said.

"What?" Tom asked.

"He's gone mate. He said that they called him into the studio early and that he'd be working late. It's a damn lie and we have no clue where he really is." Jay said.

"Oh damn it," Tom said. "Is it because of what he said yesterday?"

"Most likely. I feel so bad," you said, sulking on his bed.

"Lovely, it's okay," Jay said, wrapping an arm around you.

"No it's not," you whispered.

"Yes it will. I'll go out and find him," Tom said.

You nodded your head and continued to sulk, looking at the floor sadly. "Can I just...have a moment alone?" You asked.

"Of course, lovely," Jay said, giving your hand a gentle squeeze before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.
