Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 88

You all arrived home and you happily ran out of the car. Jay ran after you, laughing. He caught you and wrapped his arms around your back. "I'm so happy you have no idea!" You said.

Jay just smiled and kissed your cheek, not letting you go. You ran away from him and went inside, Nath and Jay running after you. "Got you!" Jay said, lightly pushing you on the couch and tickling you.

Nathan joined in, laughing at your red face. "Oh my god...please stop! Please!" You begged as you couldn't stop laughing.

"We cant stop," Jay sang.

"And we won't stop," Nathan sang along.

"CAN'T YOU SEE IT'S WE WHO OWN THE NIGHT?" Jay sang.

"CAN'T YOU SEE IT'S WE WHO GOT THAT LIGHT?" Nathan sang.

"YEAH YEAH!" You sang, between breaths. They stopped tickling you and Jay leaned down to peck your lips, smiling into the kiss.

"Oi! Keep it PG!" Nathan complained.

You broke apart from Jay and jokingly rolled your eyes at Nath. "That bitch couldn't handle this!" You shouted, smiling.

"Damn right she couldn't!" Jay shouted.

"Hell yeah!" Nathan yelled, picking you up and running away with you.

You were laughing at him as he carried you away from Jay. "Where are we going, Nath?" You asked.

"I honestly don't know," he said, laughing. You laughed at his childishness as he took you wherever. You ended up at the poolside. "Should I throw you in?" Nathan asked, laughing.

"NO!" You yelled. "I'll get wet!"

"That's what she said!" Nathan said, winking.

"That was the point!" You said. Nathan genuinely smiled at you and ran over to a picnic blanket on the grass, setting you down. "What's going on Nath?" You asked curiously.

He just smiled at you. "You're pretty like this, you know that?" He said, completely ignoring the question.

"Well...thank you," you said, unsure of what was happening.

He leaned in, looking like he was going to kiss you on the lips. You turned away from him so that he kissed your cheek instead. He didn't look that disappointed. "I meant to kiss your forehead," he whispered in your ear.

You pressed your lips together, feeling a little bad that you assumed he was going to kiss you. He smirked and laid down next to you, wrapping an arm around you. You then had remembered what Kelsey said earlier, you couldn't let him get too close to you. You wanted to say something, but before you could Nathan took out his phone. "We should take a pic and then tweet it out. You know, tell the fans that a man and a lady can just be friends?" He said.

"Umm sure," you said, a little wearily.

He lifted his phone in front of you two and took a picture. He laughed at the picture. "You're so cute." He said, before tweeting it out.

"Newsflash, a girl and a guy can JUST be really close friends :)" he tweeted.

You gave him a small smile before staring at the clouds going by. Nathan smiled and held your hand. "Where's Jay?" You asked.

"Well about mid-chase he realized we were out of beer," Nathan said, laughing.

"Of course," you laughed. You laid there for a couple minutes, enjoying his friendly company. You pointed out the different shaped clouds and made jokes to each other, laughing and smiling the whole time. "Hey Nath, guess what that one looks like," you laughed.

"What?" He asked, grinning at you.

"That one," you said, pointing to the nicely shaped cloud, "looks like a dick."

"Of course you'd notice that!" He said, laughing.

"How could I not?! It was right there and kind of obvious," you laughed.

"You know what that one looks like?" Nathan asked, pointing to a really small cloud.

"What?" You asked.

"Veronica's ass," he said, laughing.

"I don't think it's small enough though," you joked.

Nathan laughed and kissed your temple. "Good one love," he said, chuckling.

"Thanks," you laughed. You were still holding hands with him when you heard footsteps approaching from behind you.
