Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 115

Jay quickly kissed you before starting the car. You turned the radio on as this was a routine now.

"Lately I've been I've been losing sleep, dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby I've been I've been praying hard

Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars..." Jay sang.

"I see this life

Like a swinging vine

Swing my heart across the line

In my faces flashing signs

Seek it out and ye shall find

old, but I'm not that old

Young, but I'm not that bold," you sang before Jay harmonized with you.

"And I don't think the world is sold

I'm just doing what we're told

I, feel something so right

But doing the wrong thing

I, feel something so wrong

But doing the right thing

I could lie, could lie, could lie

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive," you both sang. You both continued the song, harmonizing and laughing a bit. You were honestly so happy. You always were happy with Jay.

"We're here lovely," Jay said, pulling up into the parking lot.

"Finally!" You said, running out of the car and practically dragging him into Starbucks.

"Gosh, didn't know you wanted a coffee this badly," Jay said.

You sat down and Jay went in line to get your coffee. Jay came over a few minutes later with your coffee. "Let me get napkins," he said. As he did that a fan walked over to you. "Hi...I know you're on a date and everything...but do you mind if I get a picture with you and Jay?"

"Yeah sure when he gets here," you smiled.

"Can I ask you something a little personal?" She asked.

"Sure," you smiled.

"Are you okay?" She asked quietly.

"I'm fine, why?" You asked, though you felt like you knew what she meant.

"Well the fanmily is worried...with all of the drama and stuff...and we've noticed that you've lost a lot of weight..." She said, a worried expression on her face.

"Oh..." You said. "Well everyone is fine back home, I'm okay too. Nothing is really wrong."

"Are you sure? I know sometimes we hate, but in the end we love you and we don't want you to be anorexic or anything," She said.

"I'll be okay. There's nothing that you or the fanmily has to worry about," you said reassuringly. She smiled and hugged you.

Jay walked back over and smiled. "Guessing you're a fan?" He asked, hugging her.

"Yeah," she smiled. "Do you mind if I get a picture with you both?"

"Of course!" He said, you took the picture and she whispered something in his ear. "I will," you heard him whisper back, and she left.

Jay sat down in his seat and took a sip of his coffee. "What'd she say?" You asked.

"Nothing," he smirked.
