Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 74

"So Annie is going to be here in 10 minutes," Tom said.

"Okay," you said, squeezing Jay's hand.

"Nathan, go pretty yourself up," Jay joked.

"But I'm already pretty!" Nathan joked.

"Yeah, but your hair is a bit messed up," Kelsey said, laughing.

"Oh shit!" Nathan yelled, running upstairs.

Everyone laughed at him. "He totally likes her," Siva said.

"Well that and how he basically has a hernia if his hair is a little messed up." You laughed.

Everyone laughed at you. Kelsey kept pulling faces at you. You gave her warning eyes telling her she better keep quiet. "I think we should play Never Have I Ever when she gets here," Max suggested.

"Why? You like cuddling outside with Nath?" Tom joked.

"Oh shut up." Max said.

Everyone laughed a little. "Well let's see if he can make it past his 20 shots first," Siva said.

"We don't have to play with shots. I just prefer too," Max said.

"Bullshit, we always play with shots," Tom said.

"So are we playing? It's either that or truth or dare," Max said.

"Let's have Annie pick her poison, it's bad either way," Jay said.

Everyone agreed. You secretly hoped she picked truth or dare. "I'm going to go help Nath out, I know what Annie likes in men," you said, laughing.

You ran upstairs to where Nathan was still fixing his hair. "Nathy?" You said, walking into the room.

"Yeah?" He said, messing with his hair gel.

"Let me help you out," you said, standing on your toes and running your hands through his hair.

"Thanks," Nathan said, blushing.

You smiled at him. "No problem Nath," you said. Your hands kept playing with his hair.

"Like my hair?" Nathan joked.

"It's fun to play with," you said, blushing a bit.

"I've noticed," Nathan said.

"Look, I'm sorry for back there...for making you seem like the bad guy," you said.

"It's fine, but for what it's worth, I was the bad guy in bed," Nathan said with a wink.

You rolled your eyes at him. "Yeah you were," you said, looking at the red lines on your wrists from the handcuffs.

"Are somebody's wrists sore?" Nathan asked.

"Yeah," you said.

Nathan took your wrists and kissed all of the lines. "How about now?" He asked, kissing them again.

"Better," you smiled.

He started leaning in towards you. You didn't know what to do. "N-Nathan...no. I can't." You said, moving away from him.

"Why not?" He whispered, obviously hurt.

"I'm sorry. There's something telling me I shouldn't," you said.

"After all that we just did you won't even kiss me?" Nathan said incredulously.

You pressed your lips together, tears threatening to leave your eyes. You quickly pecked his lips and left his room. "Wait a second," Nathan said, grabbing your arm. "Was what just happened...a mistake?" He asked.
