Almost Is Never Enough
Chapter 113
*Meanwhile with Nath*
"Uhm are you okay with watching Paranormal Activity? Or do you want something else?" Nathan asked quietly.
"No, I'm okay with it," Annie said simply.
Nathan then got a text from Seev.
Siva: Listening from the hall. Paranormal Activity is not romantic!
Nath: Piss off Seev
Nathan turned his phone off and started to watch the movie. They were both scared halfway through the movie, but Nath was trying to keep a brave face. He did the smart thing and wrapped an arm around Annie, letting her snuggle herself into him.
She buried her face in his chest at one point and he smiled. 'She's exactly like her' he thought.
Nathan wrapped his arm around Annie a bit tighter as the movie progressed. She smiled at him and continued watching, pulling a blanket over the two of them. Something popped out in the movie and Annie immediately hid her face into Nathan's chest. Nathan chuckled and habitually kissed her forehead. Annie looked up at Nathan, surprised.
"Uh um I'm sorry," he mumbled.
"It's fine," Annie said. She bit her lip and then kissed his cheek. Nathan gave her a small smile before continuing to watch the movie. "Nath?" She said in a quiet voice.
"Yes love?" Nathan asked, focusing his attention back on Annie.
"Umm I don't know how to say this," she said.
"Say what?" Nathan asked.
"Do you still...have feelings for her?" She whispered.
"I'm not going to lie to you...but yes, I do. I'm trying to move on though," Nathan said.
"So you're still in love with her?" She asked.
"Yes," Nathan whispered.
Annie almost looked sad for a second. "Why?" She asked.
"I've always been in love with her. I've been trying to stop, hopefully move on. There's just something that keeps me attached though," Nathan said.
"I'm sorry," Annie said, taking his hand in hers, "this must be really hard for you."
"It's fine. I'm trying to move on, I just hope I do before I do something stupid," Nathan said.
She squeezed his hand softly. "I'm sure it will," she said, "just give it time, the right person will come along."
"I hope they do," Nathan sighed.
She reached a hand out and ran it through his fringe. "It was messed up," she mumbled.
Nathan chuckled a bit. "Thanks," he said.
She bit her lip and nodded subtly. Nathan stopped and looked at Annie. He didn't know what it was, whether it was a flash of you or if he liked Annie, but he leaned in slowly and kissed her. Annie was shocked at first but soon kissed him back. Nathan put his hand at the back of her neck gently, kissing her. When they both pulled away, they were wide-eyed and out of breath.
"Did we just?" Annie whispered.
"We did," Nathan whispered back.
She leaned into his lips again, for a shorter amount of time. "Sorry I just..." She said, unable to finish.
Nathan kissed her again, stopping her from talking again. "Don't be sorry," Nathan said.
She nodded again, and they both noticed that the movie had ended. They sat in awkward silence for a few moments.
