Almost Is Never Enough
Chapter 69
Nathan started off by ordering a glass of vodka. Jay sighed, he was trying to drink his pain away again. Nathan downed glass after glass within a few minutes. His eyes looked bloodshot as tears threatened to spill over. It was killing Jay to watch Nathan do this to himself. He just wanted to run up to him and throw the glass away from him, but he couldn't.
"Drinking won't do it..." Jay whispered.
A tall man walked up to Nathan and said something to him in a gruff voice. "Hey, I don't want you to get home drunk off your ass. You should go," the man said, it was probably the manager.
"No mate. I can't." Nath said, unlike himself.
"And why not?" The manager asked.
"I just can't, alright? Just pour me another damn glass!" Nathan said.
"You're going home," the manager said.
"No I'm not!" Nathan shouted, standing up.
"You've had your limit, get out before we kick you out," the manager said, starting to get frustrated with Nathan.
"I don't give a fuck." Nathan yelled, shoving the manager.
"Security!" The manager yelled as two rather large guys came over.
"Step off!" Nathan said furiously. Jay watched, rooted in his spot. He had never seen Nath like this before.
One of the guys grabbed Nathan's arm. Nathan tried to break free, hitting him with his free arm. The other guy tackled Nathan to the ground and Nathan kicked and punched him. Jay didn't know what to do. He ran up to Nathan and tried to pry him off of the guy, eventually succeeding. Siva and the other boys rushed in and helped restrain Nathan.
"Get him out of here. When he gets sober, tell him that's he can't come back for a month. He's suspended." The manager said, thoroughly pissed at Nathan.
Jay nodded. "I'm sorry man." He said.
"Just get him out of here," the manager said, walking away.
Jay went over to Nath who was struggling against the other boys. "WHAT THE FUCK?! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" He yelled.
"No. We're taking you back to the flat and that's final," Max said.
They grabbed his elbows and dragged him out to the car where a crowd of paps were waiting.
"What happened in there?"
"Did Nathan get into a fight?"
"Is this about your girlfriend, Jay?" They yelled out to them. They all ignored them all and piled into the car as Tom drove away.
Nathan was absolutely pissed off. "I hate you guys. I can't even be alone without you barging in." Nathan spat.
"Nath, you got in a bar fight. You should be thanking us." Max said.
"No I shouldn't. I wanted to be alone. Apparently even that's not possible." Nathan said, clearly drunk.
"Nath, you're drunk and in pain," Jay said.
"So what? Better than watching you snog her face off," Nathan said.
"Nath!" Jay said.
"What?! What the hell do you want now Jay?!" Nathan yelled.
"What is wrong with you?" He yelled.
"What's wrong with me? You're the one who stole her away from me!" Nathan yelled back.
