Almost Is Never Enough
Chapter 124
Everyone, now somewhat calmed down, walked into the living room. Nathan and Jay sat on the couch opposite Tom, both giving him death glares.
Tom tried to avoid their eyes. Siva then spoke up. "Alright now what happened?"
"I'll tell the story," Nathan said, going into a full recount of what happened.
"This true Tom?" Siva asked.
"Actually I was just wondering why Nathan was still worried over her, when she hurt him so many times." He mumbled.
"But did you have to talk shit about her? No. You didn't," Nathan spat.
"I wasn't talking shit. I was saying the truth," Tom rebutted.
"What? So saying that's she's being praised and how she doesn't deserve anything? That she really is a whore and a bitch?" Nathan spat.
"You treat her like she's the best thing in the world, but she's hurt both of you multiple times! Driven you almost to suicide and self harm! And yeah, she has cheated on her boyfriend 4 times! That's a bit whore-ish don't you think? I don't think she's worth any of the heartache!" Tom said.
Jay was about to attack him when Max held him back.
"I'm just saying, if you consider someone who gives other guys blowjobs and lets them eat her out your true love, you need to re-think things," Tom said.
"TOM SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT THE GIRL I'M GOING TO MARRY!!!" Jay yelled.
Everyone was silent for a moment, looking astonished. "Yeah I'm going to marry her. Why do you think I was out today? I got the ring," Jay said.
Tom's eyes widened incredibly. "You're proposing?" He said.
"Yes I am. And you better stay away from her or I swear I WILL hurt you," Jay said.
"Why?" Tom asked.
"Because I'm in love with the person you think is a bitch." Jay said.
Nathan was still in shock. He was going to lose you. Forever. He felt his eyes start to water.
"Now stay away from her, Tom. I don't need anybody coming into her life just to hurt her," Jay said, not noticing how Nathan looked right now.
"I didn't mean to hurt her..." Tom said, "I just don't want her to hurt you."
"If she did why would I propose to her? Ever think of that? She makes me happy and I'm trying my best to make her happy too," Jay said.
Nathan quietly stood up and left the room. "I'll go with him," Kelsey said, following Nathan.
She found him in his room, heartbroken, his head in his hands. "Nath? You okay?" Kelsey asked, stepping into his room and sitting beside him.
He didn't reply, and she noticed that he was crying softly. "Oh Nathan," Kelsey said, hugging him.
"I've lost her. Forever. There's no getting her back." Nathan mumbled.
"Nathan...I thought you wanted them together," Kelsey said.
"It still hurts. Especially knowing that she turned down my proposal, only to accept his months later." He whispered.
"Nathan...I'm sorry," Kelsey said sympathetically. "He hasn't even proposed yet...she might not accept."
"Yes she will. I know she will. It's over. But you just don't understand. I'll never be able to hold her hand again, or peck her lips. I won't be able to think of all of our times together, all of the times we said 'I love you'. It's all over. So is my small chance of maybe winning her back. Game over."
