Almost Is Never Enough

Chapter 64

You went back inside and turned on the TV, which was on E! News. You sat beside Jay as you both watched. "Looks like things are going well in Wanted World," the host said. "Band member Jay McGuiness has been seen sharing smooches with his new girlfriend, ex of bandmate Nathan Sykes. The two just can't keep their hands off of each other, whether they're by the car, or in the middle of the park with the sprinklers on," the person on E said.

"They were there?!" You said incredulously.

Jay sighed. "They're always there," he said as the host continued.

"The two were spotted coming out of Jay McGuinness' psychiatrist appointment and it looked as though Jay was a bit unhappy," the host said.

Jay frowned at that. "I can't watch anymore of this," you said, reaching for the remote and turning off the TV. You sighed and crossed your arms.

"Babe, it's bullshit anyways. How about we watch it and laugh?" Jay said, turning it back on.

"Well how is Nathan Sykes dealing with this? He was found walking into Scooter Braun's music studio today recording a new song with Ariana Grande. Will these two hook up after his heartbreak?" The host said. "Is she even over Nathan? Her and Nathan were also seen getting quite cuddly at the park. Maybe things aren't so perfect in Wanted World," the host said.

"What the hell?! He just gave me a piggy back ride and that's supposed to mean more?" You said angrily.

"We just hope Nathan isn't just using Ariana to show off his high profile relationship to Jay," the host finished.

"Okay, maybe we can't laugh that off..." Jay said awkwardly, turning off the TV.

You sat there with your arms crossed. "Absolute bullshit," you muttered.

"It is bullshit, that's why we choose to ignore it most of the time." Jay said.

You got up and walked into the kitchen, getting a glass of water, along with some pills. You groaned and rubbed your temples. "You alright babe?" Jay asked, stepping into the kitchen.

"Yeah," you said. "I think that time might be coming," you whispered.

"I know just the thing to help," Jay said with a smile. He then ran upstairs.

You waited downstairs impatiently. "God Jay, what the hell is taking so long?" You groaned, taking your pills.

Jay came back downstairs eventually. "Ready love?" He asked, standing beside you.

"Just fucking show me what it is, Jay," you said.

"Okay," he said with a smile, scooping you up and bringing you to the bathroom in your room. You looked at what he had set up and smiled.

Jay had drawn a bath for you and set up candles. He also had his iPod playing some music in the background. "I know it's not much, but I'll set up some snacks for us downstairs and maybe we can do something nice," Jay said.

"Thank you so so much, Jay. You always know just what I need," you said, kissing him sweetly.

"You're welcome, love. Just come downstairs when you're done," Jay said with a smile, pecking your lips before leaving the bathroom.

You took your clothes off and slipped into the bath, instantly feeling better. You laid your head back against the tub as the scent of the candles calmed you down, along with the music. You heard footsteps come up the stairs to your bedroom and thought nothing of it. Suddenly though, Nathan walked into your room, and you realized that the bathroom door was wide open. Nathan then looked into the bathroom and he looked a bit guilty that he walked in on you.
