After two more days in the forests lining the Graz'kronal Mountain's foothills, Kanrish and the rest finally found a clearing where they could rest for at least a day.

Or at least, from the looks of it, their pursuers had not noticed them the past half day and this night was their chance to get their first taste of rest.

Since only Hapii needed a full night in comparison to the trance-like sleep of the rest of their group, she was exhausted after a day and a half of non-stop running.

Kanrish had little to work with but he knew three members of their party could secure the night.

"Hapii, take your time to recover, Lyya, Darling care to take first watch with me?" Kanrish spoke up and the two Demi-Goddesses clearly showed rejected faces.

Hell they did not even try to hide their displeasure. But the high elven woman smiled at them saying, "Don't worry, I know I have to share. Tomorrow one of you girls gets to join his shift. 'Kay?" At that the other two calmed down and huddled together reluctantly.

Meanwhile Emiko and Ayame chose to share their bed rolls with Hapii again, who gave a soft shriek of joy at the suggestion.

I'm glad those two sisters have drawn so much to Hapii... she may not be the brightest, but she helps those two kids whenever she can. And they return the favor with much pleasure. Kanrish thought to himself and smiled at the two dark elves who slept with the harpy they considered their closest friend.

He had grown used to the change of world. Although the shock from the day of arrival still lingered.

Although he had his console out, Kanrish stared blindly at it.

The cruel memories returning for the first time.

While Kanrish was half reliving his first few days in Liria, he felt a severe nausea overtake him.

The brutal massacre of the Barbarian herd that overtook him came rising violently to his mind.

The next he recalled his 'butchering' of the bandits who were trying to rob the caravan Lyya was traveling with.

His rescue of her a week later caused a large stir in his memories as well.

He shot up a couple of men who tried to attack her.

He had helped her run away from the city she had grown up in and...

A blast of fire and his returning mana from his console collapsing drew Kanrish back into reality.

While he lay on his back, a scared elven face watched him.

Gunfire could be heard around them and when Kanrish came to enough to move again, Lyya sighed, her relief audible and visible.

As he moved to sit up, his fiancé wrapped her arms around him.

"Y-you s-sca-red me..." She sobbed and his other two fiancées walked back into the clearing.

They too looked worried and dismissed the magical firearms he had built into their engagement rings.

Misuki 'gently' kicked Kanrish in his gut as she joined them last. "Don't go K.O. like that on such a moment again okay... I thought they killed my future husband..." She yelled, desperately trying to maintain an angry posture but that shattered in no time and the white haired beauty dropped to her knees and hugged both her fiancé and her two sisters while she cried.

"I'm sorry for that. You girls, all three of you know I'm not originally from Liria. So my memories of having to start 'killing' to survive here kinda knocked me out."
