Kanrish sat half dazed in his current surroundings.

He had woken up to a distraught Akane.

Her ashen gray dress was all crumpled as she had been lying with him for almost an entire day.

In their carriage on the road, she had.

And she remained to do so when they had arrived at the Alpenwood Estate, in the room he lay in.

A lot of sound echoed through the walls around them.

Clearly the residence was in an uproar at Pharana's unannounced return.

A particularly loud voice caught Kanrish's attention as it rapidly came closer.

"Where is he?! I demand to see the man responsible for my daughter's safety!..." A brief silence followed that, and the man's voice came rushing at him again through the walls."

"Nonsense, I must properly thank the savior of my daughter's life, what kind of Cardinal King would I be otherwise!?"

The shouting clearly came from directly at the door to the room he was in and Kanrish gave a confused look at Akane.

Overly concerned father maybe? She replied telepathically with a joking expression and he gave a slight smile when the door was abruptly swung open.

"Father! I told you sir Kanrish is recovering from a sudden collapse!" Pharana's concerned voice countered the suddenly opened door and from the bed where they sat, Kanrish and Akane could see Pharana glaring angrily at a man with a somewhat similar facial complexion as she had, only rougher.

Clearly he was her father.

The man stepped into the room and announced his own arrival as most often the guards or attendants would do for royalty.

"My name is Cairdh Alpenwood, ruling Lord and Cardinal King of the Eastern Cardinal of the Southern Forest and Father of my lovely daughter Pharana Alpenwood. Sir Kanrish, you have my most sincere thanks for the protection of my daughter on her travels." The man spoke and immediately after his 'self-introduction' made a bow out of respect and Pharana stepped into the room with a long heaving sigh.

"...Sorry Lady Akane, I told him to wait until there was news of your husband waking up..."

She turned an accusatory glance to her father and continued, "...but as usually when I tell my not-so-humble father to wait... it goes unheard."

Her father clearly took a blow to his ego from Pharana's remarks and turned to his daughter with what was most unsettling on a man like him.

"Please, Phara, Darling I only want what is best for you..." He spoke with large teary puppy eyes and Kanrish lowered his head in shame.

This fool currently ruled the entire Eastern Cardinal of this nation... and he's like... this?

"Father, unlike you losing the allegiance of the town of Lerwick, I managed to regain it." Pharana spoke and the flaming figure of Nylisa landed proudly on her shoulder.

The small flaming nymph had been fully healed from her 'water accident', but still was a little upset with the Princess.

But right now she stood proudly on Pharana's shoulder, her crimson, flaming birdlike wings proudly in the air and her flowing, flaming dress occasionally releasing a small burst of flame that fluttered off on the slight breeze through the closed windows.

Nylisa eyed the man who so shamelessly looked at his daughter like a man pleading for mercy after being caught cheating by his wife.

It was the brief look the nymph shared when Kanrish locked eyes with her that said enough.
