While Kanrish spent his day working on the new functions for his map by expanding the searchability of things on it with additional add-ons, Ayame quickly got the hang of hitting moving targets with her bow.

Just seeing how fast she got the hang of it, left Kanrish wondering how deadly of a sniper the girl would be if she had proper arrows. Right now, she was hitting Misuki's magical practice target with an accuracy utterly unbefitting of an inexperienced archer like Ayame was.

After lunch, Ayame asked Misuki to have the target attempt to dodge shots as well, and still Ayame remained hitting dead-center most of the times.

Even Emiko had no idea where her younger sister had learnt such terrifying accuracy with a bow. They had both learned to fight with swords from Aelanna. But before this, she knew Ayame had never even touched a bow before.

It was ridiculous to see her sister firing away at that magical disk their mother had created for her and hitting it almost each and every time while using the most horrendously made ammunition, sharpened sticks.

They had no tail feathers to guide them, which she heard hunters complaining about in Maka'ral whenever the local fletchers had done a poor job at making the arrows. The things wouldn't fly straight at those times. And that while those did have tail feathers, unlike the 'arrows' her sister currently used.

But before her own eyes, her sister was hitting that target so often while it moved fast enough for Emiko to have trouble anticipating where it would be in a mere moment's notice.

And that her sister, an untrained archer, was hitting that thing with simple sticks sharpened into a point... was utterly baffling for her.

She felt an odd pride at seeing her younger sister take to the bow like that. She felt an urge to praise the girl, but refrained from doing so, she had nothing she excelled in like that.

Learning to fight with those swords was tough on her. She had never been good with weapons she knew from before they became slaves. But Emiko knew all too well Ayame could not recall those times very well, she had only been five years old.

Their parents had been murdered by slavers and the two of them made into commodities. There was nothing they could do at the time.

Emiko looked at the skies as she sat pondering those horrible times that lay in their past.

A sudden smile crept onto her face as she was lost in thought.

"Thank you, Kami-sama, for giving us a second chance..." She muttered softly without even realizing it herself.

She was truly grateful to Kanrish for saving the two of them from that slave-deal.

Had he not, they would be serving perverted men all day in a dingy room. Being beaten up just for the fun of it and raped day in and day out just because their new owner found them 'attractive' enough to service those lustful and disgusting men.

Even worse, with their slave curses back then, they could only let those men do to their bodies whatever they desired.

But now. Here she was. A lover who let her rest in her lap at this moment. Her sister practicing archery simply for the fun of it.

A new family that cared for them, protected them and helped them wherever and whenever they could.

While back then, she dared not dream of the idea she might have this someday in the future since losing everything, Emiko was glad she and her sister had gotten this after all.

In fact, she was grateful to Kanrish, Lyya, Akane and Misuki for saving the two of them back then.

Seeing she knew of Kanrish' past, not being from the same world as they were, she was truly grateful to whoever it had been that brought him here. She was grateful to Aelanna for keeping her and Ayame safe when the two of them could not.
