Kanrish stood in the center of the main foyer of their mansion, his breath ragged as he felt himself standing stabily again.
"Holy shit!" He exclaimed as he dropped himself onto his butt and looked around, almost praying his family had made it here to safety.
"Kanrish!" Lyya's enraged voice came from nearby and he was tackled suddenly as he sat on the wooden floor.
"Don't you ever do something this stupid again!" She shouted as she held him close to her, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I-I'm sorry... I thought I could at least stall it a little... I'm sorry for frightening you like this." Kanrish spoke and placed his arms around Lyya's trembling figure.
"Baka..." Ayame suddenly called, drawing his attention to the rest of his family who stood a slight distance from him and the distraught Lyya.
Emiko had tears streaming down her cheeks, Ayame's face was red with fury and Hapii seemed to be unable to figure out what she should do, and next to all of them, stood Misuki, more relieved than anything.
"Asshole..." Lyya muttered to him and squeezed his figure as she simply held him in utter fear of having lost him.
"That does it, we're canceling our venture into the Frostbrand!" Hapii suddenly shouted at the top of her lungs, speaking far more matured than any of them were used to from the harpy.
"What?!" The girl exclaimed when the entire group around her had suddenly turned their attention to her, the tensed atmosphere entirely gone by everyone's sheer surprise.
"What?!" She repeated herself and Ayame burst out into laughter at how oblivious her youngest sister was.
"You don't realize?" Ayame asked as she managed to calm her laughter a little before continuing just as hard.
"What's so funny?!" Hapii exclaimed in utter confusion.
Kanrish gave Lyya an odd glance and they seemed to be thinking the same.
She doesn't realize she just spoke so out of character for her doing?
The look they gave each other told both Kanrish and Lyya they had the exact same thought at that moment and smiled, even if Lyya's smile was still pained by the happenings a few minutes before that.
After the extremely tensed atmosphere that had hung around them the moment Kanrish had appeared in their mansion had been instantly dispelled by Hapii's shout and obliviousness, Kanrish looked around and saw seven of their dryad maids standing around them, near the edge of the foyer.
"Milord, why has the carriage, along with the drakes suddenly been parked inside the mansion?" One of them asked them.
"We were in a bit of a pinch, so I told Misuki to teleport everyone along with the carriage here with a scroll I prepared for emergencies. We'll move it outside in a minute. A moment to breathe would be pleasant." Kanrish spoke and two maids nodded.
"The sales of the items Lady Aelanna brought here have been completed and the money has been delivered to her room in the Queen's residence." Another of their maids spoke and Kanrish nodded.
"We shall see to unloading the carriage and moving it outside, adjusting the front door is a trivial matter for us, please rest Milord, Miladies." The dryad who managed all their other staff spoke and two maids took the reins of the drakes and guided the carriage to the front door while their head maid began to chant a spell.
Before Kanrish' eyes, he saw the wooden walls distort and open up to allow the carriage to freely move through it.
"Milord, should we leave the front door like this in case an emergency like this might occur again?" Another dryad asked them and Kanrish simply looked at her confused.
