The trio piled into Dena's car and headed into town. Although Ama was a bit nervous but tried to be as friendly as possible. Dena made her feel welcomed and more at ease as they walked around window shopping and just getting to know one another. Ama held tightly to Cerise's hand as they walked along. The trio strolled through stores, laughing, joking, and having a good time.
Ama found some wall stickers she thought would be perfect for Cerise's room and picked up several of a few of them. Dena was excited to see how Ama's vision for Cerise's room was going to turn out. Several hours later, they headed back to Dena's home. The elder woman said she'd keep Cerise busy while Ama began working on the room. The purple-headed woman thanked her mother-in-law before walking back to the room that would soon be Cerise's.
She didn't know anything about painting a room, so she had to look up how to prepare walls to paint. An hour later, she had changed into some jeans and t-shirt she didn't mind getting dirty. Amarelle firmly applied the painter's tape to the edges of the room's corners, base and crown moldings, and door & window casings.
Next, she taped where she was going to put the crown molding on the walls. She primed the walls, she wasn't painting the ceiling since it was white and she thought it would look good staying white, then let the primer set for an hour. Amarelle had one wall painted the medium pink and was letting it dry while she painted a second wall medium pink. The other two walls would be the lighter pink. It was getting late, so she figured she'd stop for the evening.
She cleaned out the brushes as her research had told her she should before setting them aside. Ama washed her hands in the bathroom before walking into the living room. Dena was sitting on the couch with Cerise watching a movie.
"Amarelle, whenever you're hungry, I want to take you to 'Charlie's'. It's a local favorite of Tim's. I think you'll both like it." Dena told the younger woman when she noticed her.
"Oh no, Dena. You don't have to do that." Ama was quick to retort.
"You've been working all afternoon. Besides, it will do some good to get out of the house." Dena smiled, not taking no for an answer.
"Fine, fine. You win." Ama chuckled making Dena smile at her
"Ama? What's my room going to look like?" Cerise questioned, big blue eyes staring at her.
"It's a surprise. But you're gonna love it." Ama smiled at the child.
                              "Promise?"
                              "Promise."
Amarelle's stomach began making noises. Dena chuckled and told her to go change clothes then they'd go get dinner. Ama quickly changed into what she'd been wearing earlier in the day while Dena helped Cerise into her shoes.

After breakfast the following morning, Ama was back at painting the walls. She was getting the lighter pink walls done next. While she was waiting for those to dry, she added a second coat to the medium pink walls. By the time she was done with that, it was lunch time. The sound of Cerise running down the hallway could be heard and it made her smile.
"Ama! Ama! Miss Emily is here and she brought pizza!" Cerise was waving her arms around as she jumped around in circles.
"Ok, sweetie. Let's go wash our hands and faces then we can eat." Ama chuckled at the excited young girl.
"She says her and Miss Dena are going to take me to the park after lunch!" Cerise said as they walked into the bathroom.
"Oh really? Sounds exciting! I hope you have lots of fun while you're there." Ama chuckled as she lifted Cerise up to the sink to wash her hands.
