Imagine: You're a lead guitarist in a small band. The biggest gig the band gets is for Bucky's birthday party. He's a huge fan of the small band that he found in a bar. The lead singer doesn't show up so you gotta step in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You kept trying to get a hold of Trevor, the lead singer. The party already started and people are getting pissy there's no music.
"What the hell are we doing?" Lizzie, the drummer, asked worried.
"Guys, he ain't coming," Leo, the keyboardist, said.
"Does that mean we leave?" Lizzie asked.
"No, follow my lead," you said.
You went up to the mic and started playing the cords. You looked at the band behind you and they realized what song. They started playing with you.
"I heard you're feeling nothing's going right
Why don't you let me stop by?
The clock is ticking, running out of time
So we should party all night," you sang and it shocked the whole band.
"So cover your eyes,
I have a surprise
I hope you got a healthy appetite
If you wanna dance,
If you want it all
You know that I'm the girl that you should call"
People started cheering and went out on the dance floor and danced. You smiled and kept with the song.
"Boy, when you're with me
I'll give you a taste
Make it like your birthday everyday
I know you like it sweet
So you can have your cake
Give you something good to celebrate"
Bucky grinned widely watching you preform. He realized that you're the better singer in the band.
"So make a wish
I'll make it like your birthday everyday
I'll be your gift
Give you something good to celebrate"
"Pop your confetti
Pop your Pérignon
So hot and heavy
'Til dawn
I got you spinning
Like a disco ball
All night they're playing
Your song"
You're a bit more shy than the others and you were absolutely terrified of singing in front of people but you loved music so much so you settled with being the lead guitarist. Yet, you're singing in front of 200 or so people right now. No pressure?
"We're living the life
We're doing it right
You're never gonna be unsatisfied
If you wanna dance
If you want it all
You know that I'm the girl that you should call"
Bucky cheered you on and you winked at him out of nowhere.
"Boy, when you're with me
I'll give you a taste
Make it like your birthday everyday
I know you like it sweet
So you can have your cake
Give you something good to celebrate"
"So make a wish
I'll make it like your birthday everyday
I'll be your gift
Give you something good to celebrate"
"Happy birthday"
People have their phones out and are filming you. You ignored it and kept singing and playing.
"So let me get you in your birthday suit
It's time to bring out the big balloons
So let me get you in your birthday suit
It's time to bring out the big, big, big, big, big, big balloons"
"Boy, when you're with me
I'll give you a taste
Make it like your birthday everyday
I know you like it sweet
So you can have your cake
Give you something good to celebrate"
"Boy, when you're with me
"So make a wish
"Happy birthday"
You took a bow and a sigh of relief. The crowd is cheering you on and you really really wish you had a shot before hand. You went onto the next song and then the next.
(Time skip)
You carefully placed your f/c electric guitar in its case and the others are already gone. Bucky came over and folded his hands on your shoulders.
"Hi," you said quietly as he looked at you.
"You should sing more," he said.
"I'll take that into consideration," you said closing up the case.
"You should! You're a whole hell of a lot better than that other guy! You need to take his place or kick him out," Bucky said moving you to face him and he straightened up a bit.
"It's his band, he created it," you said looking at his steely blue eyes.
"Then you should get out of it, it's holding you back, Doll," Bucky said placing his hands on your hips. "You don't deserve to be held back."
"Okay, Birthday Boy, you're pretty drunk. You don't know what you're saying," you said.
"I might be a bit tipsy but I know I'm right and so do you," He said.
He kissed your cheek and then made his way out. He looked back at you halfway looking over his shoulder.
"Take my advice, I'm 102," He said and he winked at you.
"This is some mysterious shit!" You yelled back.
He chuckled and did a little dance as he left the big ball room. You stood there shaking your head.
