Imagine: There was this one song that Bucky listened to after waking up from a nightmare, Asleep (technically by The Mayries) by you. It's always brought him some sort of peace for the time being. You're Tony's good friend and he asked a favor for Bucky since he's been having a pretty shitty past week.

You walked into the lobby of the Avengers Tower with your acoustic guitar. You've been doing more pop style music than acoustic style. Though Bucky only listens to the one song that he just adores so much. He tried googling you but ended up breaking the laptop and being yelled at Tony. Bucky only knows how to call and text on an iPhone and he knows how to use Spotify. You also were 16 when you wrote the song and put it on a EP under a fake name.

You're greeted by Pepper.

"I'm honestly surprised Tony has arranged this,
Y/n," Pepper said. "The two of them are practically enemies."

"Oh fun," you said sarcastically as the two of you entered an elevator.

You two rode up the elevator to Bucky's apartment and Steve is at the elevator doors about to go on a run. His apartment is across from Bucky's.

"Pepper?" Steve said confused.

"Hush, is he in his apartment?" Pepper asked leading you out.

"Yes, what's going on?" Steve asked hesitantly.

"Sing me to sleep, sing me to sleep," you sang and Steve was shocked.

He's heard your voice come from Bucky's room multiple times before but he could never figure out who it was.

"I can take her, Pepper. Buck probably won't shoot me," Steve said which made your eyes widened.

Now, you were being led into Bucky's apartment and Pepper followed behind just to make sure the plan goes perfectly. Tony even came in and Steve checked on Bucky for a quick second to find him asleep.

"Okay, so pretty much just sit on the couch and sing your pretty little heart out, Y/n," Tony whispered.

"That's easy," you said ever so quietly and getting out your guitar as you seated yourself on the couch.

"We'll be outside the door if anything goes wrong," Tony mumbled.

You nodded and three quickly left the apartment. You started playing the guitar and started singing the song. You messed up a few cords since it's been so long but soon go the hang of it and it became natural.

"Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I'm tired and I
I want to go to bed
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
And then leave me alone
Don't try to wake me in the morning
'Cause I will be gone
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I'll feel so glad to go
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore
Sing to me
Sing to me
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I really want to go
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore
There is another world
There is another world
There is a better world
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well
There must be
Well
There must be," You sang and Bucky stirred in his sleep.

He woke up as you just finished. You looked down the hall hoping this guy would come out of his room. You decided to do the song again.

Bucky looked around confused hearing you singing and all he thought about was having an intruder. He quickly got out of bed and put on a pair of black joggers he left on the floor. He searched for his phone and looked to see its dead. He grabbed a hand gun and slowly left the room. He crept down the hallway and spotted you singing on the couch playing guitar.

"Who are you?!" Bucky asked pointing his gun at you.

"That's a nice weapon you have there. By the way, I'm Y/n L/n," you said calmly looking at him and smiling sweetly at him. "You're Bucky, right?"

He nodded and said, "Wanda listens to you."

You chuckled and said, "I hear you do too."

"I do?" He asked questioning himself and he lowered his gun.

"Yeah," you said playing your guitar again and singing. "Sing me to sleep, sing me to sleep. I'm tired and I want to go to bed. Sing me to sleep, sing me to sleep."

His eyes widened in shock and he put the gun down on a nearby shelf. You patted the spot next to you and he slowly came over. He sat down beside you and you continued the song.

Once you finished, he was amazed by you. He wanted you to keep singing but he didn't know how to ask. It was like you already knew and you smiled at him. You sang another song and another and another.
