Nini POV
Ricky's hand traveled up and down my bare arm soothingly, his cheek resting on the top of my head. "Is the beginning college?" I ask quietly. I feel him nod. "Hell yeah, wherever we go, we'll always be together. We haven't come over a decade for a dead end." His lips come down and peck my cheek and I close my eyes. He notices my content and I feel him smile against my cheek, kissing me again, tenderly and gently. "Can you imagine it? Maybe we leave Salt Lake, maybe we stay right here in this town but you and I have an entire life ahead." he says to me excitedly. I feel his heartbeat picking up and I look up into his eyes. They're shining and his smile is bright. I run my fingertips through the back of his curls and I lean against his neck, smiling myself. "And then we're going to get crazy amazing jobs." I say to him, laughing and squeezing one of his hands. "Fuck yes, I already know you'll be a musician of some kind but for me, maybe a job in the English department, maybe a music teacher?" His tone sounds unsure at the end and I know he probably didn't mean to say it. I knew that Ricky was considering looking into going to school for music education. I've caught him browsing various music departments at colleges and I knew he was very uncomfortable with the idea, but it was definitely his passion. "That would be AMAZING baby, you'd make the best music teacher. Inspiring all those kids. Damn I could only imagine them wanting to play instruments the second they feel your energy and excitement for music." I say looking him in the eye. His smile widens, his beautiful smile makes me beam back and it feels like we're high off of each other. "That means so much to me Nins" he tells me, very quietly, while stroking his fingertips over my chin. "Speaking of kids." he starts to say. His hand moves from my chin, over to my stomach. "Our own." I say quietly. He nods and smiles, pressing our noses together, while continuing to rub over my stomach. "If we have a boy-" I start to say but he cuts me off. "You're not naming our child Troy." He says laughing. "Shut up Ricky" I say laughing into his chest and pushing him away lightly. "I was going to say, he'd look just like you, absolutely a little cute thing running around the house with your crazy curls and adorable smile." Ricky's eyes hold vulnerability and I run my fingertips over his cheek. "But if we have a girl-" he starts to say, his hands running through my hair, moving over to cup my jaw. "She's going to be the sweetest thing, just like her mom. Growing up to be breathtakingly beautiful." He finishes softly. I can't resist him, I move forward and press my lips against Ricky. He responds right away, and i feel a teardrop run between our mouths. I pull back and see that he's teared up. I grab his hand. "And more than anything, whatever kid we have, they'll grow up knowing that their parents love each other, and love them with all their hearts." I say softly to Ricky. He looks off into the distance and I turn his head back to me. "Hey, come back to me Ricky." I say to him. He looks me in the eyes and I know I've struck a nerve with everything that's happening with his parents, but I think it was a good nerve because he pulls me closer to his body. "I love you Nini. And that day that we find out we're starting a family, I already know it'll be one of my favorite days in my entire life." I smile at him and hold onto his hands. "The one where I pee on a stick and it says 'pregnant' or the one where I push a human out of my vagina?" I ask him, laughing. He begins to laugh hard too. "You make it sound so magical babe." I kiss his cheek. "Well marrying you beats the day of our child's birth. Less pain." I say to him smiling. "Is that so?" He says caressing my cheek. "Well, first of all, marrying you will always be my second best day of my life. First was meeting you. But second of all, I'm going to be with you the entire time you give birth to our child so you don't even have to worry." I start to laugh. "Okay, your presence doesn't make the whole pushing a baby out of me thing easier." I say giggling. "What? Come on! I'm the best drug." Ricky says smiling. "Nope sorry." I say while leaning in to catch his lips. His response is immediate and his kisses are slow but loving. His tongue slips into my mouth and he lays us down so that he's on top. When he pulls back, he looks me up and down. "My beautiful girl in a wedding dress? Fuck I'll be an emotional mess." He says huskily. I smile and bring my hands up to his face. "You, waiting to marry me of all people at the alter. How is that even real life?" I say to him. He leans down to meet my face and a curl slips onto my forehead. "Life with you is a dream." And he kisses my eyelids, my nose, the side of my mouth, and finally my lips. I pull him down so that I could lay on his chest and he sighs in content when I'm situated. "How did we go from playing on the playground together, to first crushes, to a relationship, to navigating sex together, to planning our life together?" Ricky asks in disbelief. "And a breakup." I say quietly. "Damn we've had one hell of a life together." His arms tighten around me and I snuggle my nose into his chest. "And there's so much left." I say. "I feel like the luckiest man in the world." He tells me. I move my lips across his chest and take in his scent, memorizing every part of him just for a second. "I couldn't be more lucky myself, Ricky." I respond softly. He kisses my forehead.
